Current Grand Company storyline really going away in A Realm Reborn?

Just finished the last Grand Company quest, pretty epic fight and ending, I must say. Great job dev team.

It makes me a bit sad though that this great content will be gone in a few months. There's no way they can somehow leave certain parts in, like this awesome end fight, for new players to experience? Maybe by use of the echo or something, new players can 'see into the past' to experience this fight and other content.

I don't know, just seems such a shame that the dev team worked so hard on this stuff and I'd hate to see it all go away forever. What do you think?

P.S. and yeah, I understand that this is kind of our 'reward' for sticking around, getting to experience this one-time storyline, but like I said, what if I want to replay this awesome fight a year from now >_<

Only way i could think, going by what the trailer is hinting at, is if we fight him as the preface of the 2.0 story. But that has all kinds of wonky attached to it (Kinda how Tera Started)

Aren't they being removed to make way for Free companies? It'd be a bit weird to be in both a Grand Company AND a Free Company, just language-wise...

No, Grand Companies will still be here. They even mentioned you will be able to switch to a different nation's Grand Company, at the cost of something, like your rank.

Seems pretty crazy that they'd make this big detailed boss fight, only to have it around for a month or two.

The naming really confuses people, Free Companies and Grand Companies are totally different things.
Grand Companies is just a "faction" you join to do quests for, obtain items etc.
Free Companies will be just like guilds in other MMOs.
