Sure, some of the stuff in the UI is the same.. but it 'being photoshopped' and noticed as a bad thing is implying that the UI won't look anything like that at all when the game finally releases.

Raging over tiny details like that, which are probably like that for a reason, is silly. :P

Calling it Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, really makes it sound like an expansion and in some ways it is. A lot of non players of FFXIV will remember now much it sucked and think of it as an expansion to a failed mmo and will pay it no mind.

? Most everyone who does a graphic related thing will do a "prototype" of what they want it to look like in Photoshop first, which means it's just a picture they make that they want it to look like. Forum designers, UI designers, etc. :0 So saying it's a photoshop doesn't mean it won't look like that.

SE already has a free FF11 trail they probably need to do something similar for FF14 in 2.0. For FF11, trail players can only level up to level 30, have 100k gil, can't send tells to people but can reply, can't invite people to parties but can join them. Can not trade other players, use the AH or bazzars, send or receive items with mog house delivery system.

It is Photoshopped, every single bar and bar status is exactly the same, EVERYTHING IS THE SAME!!!

Except it's not. Look at the cooldown timers on the skill bars. Certain cooldowns are at different durations and some cooldowns are triggered in one screen while they arwn't in the other. It's real!

We just need to spread the word once it hits. If it succeeds (I think it will, based on how improved this current version is), we just need to pass it on like wildfire!

Yeah, in addition to the new media being released, I feel like the players (us) will also need to keep people in check who think this is the same game from 2010 and remind them this is a complete rebuilding of the game. Hell, the current game is even totally different than before, just show them a video of the new ending fight, that would get me excited by itself lol, this team just seems to know how to make good content.

At a uni lecture on thursday we ended up talking about Starcraft and I dropped the bomb that I have been playing FFXIV. Many people seem curious about it even now; just the bad reviews hurt it. Anyways I told everyone about 2.0, lots of us did not know of 2.0! So maybe that is a few more people that will join us online. =)
