Ok, correction on my part for the duke comment, some of these, not all but some just seem that people are starting to over analyze the term time travel. if it's just other peoples interpretations then there is no reason for others to try and disprove a perspective.

I agree with this here. I think it's saying that (we) the heros of the story are sort of placed in stasis, outside of the normal flow of time, during which time elapses and we are returned at a safer point in the future.

We were sent to Valhalla like in FFXIII-2?
Its cool, things are just so unclear at the moment with the .dat of the cavernous maw and the timey wimey stuff and the Louisoix with the giant barrier and the seemingly possible fatal outcome. So many questions not enough answers, and its also really fun to speculate with other people as well as if SE is reading these they get a good sense of what people might find cheesy and/or amazingly interesting.
He who fights and runs way (to another dimension) lives to fight another day!

nah more like with what Hope does
actually that's still being debated on, as there hasn't been any proven facts to go against it. Time is a theory which means that it is neither proven nor is actual fact. Just as with Time Travel (thus they always call it the "Theory of time travel") they can't prove that it's possible yet they can't prove that it isn't. (sorry about that partial quote there I myself hate it but that's just the point i wanted to make on the rest wasn't something i would completely disagree with except for the point that they do say that we are taken out of time and brought forth into the future.)Time Travel is not possible as Time does not exist. There is no passage from past present to future, as there is only the present. Past and Future only exist as ideas in our memories and hold no real existence beyond this. By their very definition they can only exist outside of actual existence.
This is true of all things, and cannot actually rationally or logically be thought of as existing unless you use a twisted vocabulary to in fact say that you went from one present to the present that your perceptions tell you is different.

Exactly.
"Sent beyond the reach of time, we remained... until now." = implications of time travel.
It's been used before in various media as forms of time travel.
***Spoilers***
One of the most recent examples is in Skyrim wherein with the use of an Elder Scroll assisted by the Dragonrend Shout, Alduin was transported from one point in history outside of time into the current-time of the events in Skyrim wherein the latest Dragon Break occurs, and Alduin is spitted out and soon attacks Helgen. It happens again when you defeat Alduin too, that he's once again sent outside of time to return when time's ready again.
***End Spoilers***
But in any case, no one can say what "time travel" isn't unless they've actually experienced it...
Indeed, not to mention disproven or not, we're talking about it as something that can and does happen in these video game universes.actually that's still being debated on, as there hasn't been any proven facts to go against it. Time is a theory which means that it is neither proven nor is actual fact. Just as with Time Travel (thus they always call it the "Theory of time travel") they can't prove that it's possible yet they can't prove that it isn't. It's impossible for a civilization to instantly rebuild itself, including an entirely different Ul'dah and a complete network of railway stations. Not to mention all of the climate changes that have to occur over a period of time like Mor Dhona turning into a snowy wasteland.
Ergo, time travel pretty much has to be involved.
There has never been a mind blowing suspense killing, inception like plot twisting storyline in any FF. There have been storylines that have come close to that(FFVIII,FFXIII-2) but they both where poorly written. As far as XI goes, their storyline was not xeno quality or anything along those lines, but it was extremely well written and presented, it was a well worked script, and the execution of it was almost flawless.Wait, graphics don't make the game? (Mind = Blown!)
But in all honesty I love story strong heart pounding, suspense milking, plot twist hurling, Inception mind fucking story. Its why I love the Final Fantasy games to begin with. Its why I played FFXI for 5+ years. I just hope they don't disappoint with the ARR when it comes to story. I hope my lesser-primal imperial magitek summoner speculation is true god I want it to be true, if it is call 911 cause my heart will explode.
