Like I said before, from what it sound like, this is similar to what Fairy Tail did during the Tenrou Island arc.

A black dragon, Acnologia, nukes the island they were on, but the spirit of the first guild master puts them all in a time bubble (island included), so they reappear 7 years later not aging a day.

Not quite like Ocarina of Time cause Link aged 7 years.

I could see something like, the one who sacrifices himself put a barrier around the three nations meanwhile the beastmen use their primals to defend their homelands. What may most likely occur in the next VU is as the catastrophe draws closer even though we may have been victorious we are unable to stop Dalamud from making an impact. So we are ordered to speak with the beastman an create an alliance to protect Eorzea a land precious to both of us. We may attempt to awaken Titan/Leviathan to use their strength to weaken the impact of the moon. Titan controlling the earth to reduce the impact of Dalamud, Garuda's wind to slower the velocity, Ifrit's heat to absorb the heat resonating from Dalamud and Levi's control of the ocean to cool down the rock as well as perhaps weaken the impact of any more meteors landing on Eorzea

But ya overall I do see the next patches focusing on creating unity between all the races to reduce as much of the damage as possible from Dalamud's impact.
