Sorry to burst your bubble, but FFXIV is a multiplayer game.

Its funny 'cause you can solo 90% of the content... k maybe like 70% but still... its funny. Wish they'd make more moderate duo-trio stuff. Leve sharing gets old the way the current system is set up

Too bad it only takes less than 5 minutes to get your BLM AF if you weren't lazy enough to just make a group of four or more of people willing to enter instance with you. GL soloing mistress/ifrit/moogle/garuda/all other AF(in instance)/last AF quest/hamlet/GC last quest/skirmish.

Northman, I'm a casual gamer, and you're inciting my own rage and disapointment.

There is plenty, of content out there that is solo capable. There is nothing at all that prevents your Thaumaturge from reaching level 50, or any of your classes for that matter.

But please understand that 'Jobs' are a party function. You unlock them to change your class into a role specifically for the utilization of other people.

"Black Mage" and "Solo" are not two words you should be using together for anything meaningful, and that includes your Artifact armor.

Additionally, you've yet to truely explain what your animosity is against partying with others. You state issues about waiting around for a group to get together, but this matter is already in the process of being addressed with Content Finder.

The reason why you're getting such a harsh reaction is that your complains belie the lack of information you have, as well as they are unreasonable given the context of what you are talking about.

I am a soloist for much of this game and I do agree that some content must be soloable to keep players sustained to prevent burn-out on party based content.

But Jobs and AF isn't it.

So please stow away the outspoken disappointment for now. We are at the end of the 1.xx era of FFXIV and there is much on the horizon.

Hello Northman,

I am not sure if you new to Final Fantasy. Final Fantasy big collection of games over many years. In all Final Fantasy games party and teamwork important. They all show how people get together to beat enemies. Not just to fight in battle, but main part of 'story' is how to work together.

That is how FFXIV is as well. Show how team work lets you win. That can not change. TO change that would mean no more final fantasy.

For you, maybe good idea to join linkshell or make friends. Go win quests together. Get AF and fight tougher mobs. Good big linkshell have 'events' organized (once a week, go get AF). This can help you. This is how FFXIV work. Please find a way to work with it.

This was my first MMO and I expected a lot. But I'm so disappointed, even angry. Was that the purpose of game designers ? I'm solo player though, but still polite to everybody. I don't want to be anybody's slave and under bad command, sorry. Players don't like solo players. One even brought coco's ass to my mouth when I was standing in desert. He expected me to be beginner and solo and was angry. - I was waiting chocobo hard. But it was not sold to me like to others. When I was accepted to army I tried to buy it but I could not pass the cave leve alone. It is not allowed to solos. I spent all money (250000) to supports, but it was not even nearly enough. The first army leves I can pass only when 30. I sd wait choco until 30 when others get it in 25's and only because I'm solo. Do you think I sd pay of this kind teasing. If I think also the big bugs I meet every day huh. In real word I have served in army and being commander. When I used a weapon, it worked. Here I must wait minutes that I can hit once. Is this made for 80 years old mummies ? Why you didn't tell that this game is not for solo players ? Merry Christmas to everybody anyway ! I will find something better to do.

Look, I'm not trying to be mean, but it seems you only wish to solo this game (maybe because there aren't many players in your native language?) I don't know your reasons, but it's not really a game designed for soloists. It's designed to be played in groups. So either:
1. Accept that you will either not be able to do 100% of content solo
2. Need to occasionally group up to get some content you wish to clear done
3. Get some of your RL friends to play so you can communicate in your native language (again sorry if English IS your primary language)
4. Face your fears and join a social ls...or 4. You don't have to talk in shell or anything. But if you see 'Aurum Veil anyone?' say 'sure' and jump in and get your clears that way.

But if none of this works for you, then maybe, you'd be better served to play a different game, designed for single players.
