I'll answer for SE:
If you're casual, do that.
If you're hardcore go after Relic.
Simple as that. The only problem would be if SE catered more to the casual base, which then you should be complaining about balance.

I am sorry but you know this game has a rating of 13+, you shouldn't be stealing mommy's and daddy's credit card, they should send you to a corner..Quote Originally Posted by Youmukon View Post

Well what a dissapointment- according to a french gm-
Skirmish weapon will be equal to our current endgame weapons-
also easier to obtain-
this is not a endgame content-
it is created for players who don't have time to play this game and not GOOD ENOUGH to win or obtain endgame weapons. I OVER EXAGGERATED the translation on this sentence, but that's what they really mean >.>
they can enjoy this game with a shorter period of time getting similar weapon to endgamers.
the fight is easier and drop rate is fairly higher.
So se let me ask you this... what's the point of doing relic and fighting primal
If I can just do skirmish and get stuff quicker and spend less time.... why would we aim for those weapons?
just no it would be nice if they tuned down the luck factor
what i mean is, we're all still in the transitional introduction phase of development and implementation of content. we have yet to see the end of the game type gear/weapons/etc. do we even know if level 50 will be the immediate cap when 2.0 becomes a real thing? for now, i guess you're right, what we have at the top is "endgame" but i consider it all temporary shills for what's in store for us later.
Funny, I'm looked up pgl/mnk weapons on mooglebox, and there's 18 at lvl 50; 15 if you don't count unfinished sphairai/sphairai (as they're mnk only) and avengers (as they're pgl only).
15 weapons at lvl 50 for pgl/mnk.
Do we really need more weapons?
This game is not WoW; if you want WoW, go play WoW. If you get butthurt when people mention Final Fantasy XI, then shut up about WoW.As much as it might hurt you, and as much as someone else brings the balance issues up, FFXI had the jobs right. And, you know, this is a FF, and I don't see you guys complaining about people asking for WoW things. So please.
Also, it's not like this dev team is being true to the roots of the jobs anyway.
are you complaining about having options? Oo
I consider that a promising start to a game we can customize a bit more than we can today.
I'm complaining that they're focusing too much on weapons and not enough on the other slots. Wouldn't you rather have Ifrit drop some body armor or an att+ belt, or Skirmish drop items like an Uldahn teleport ring with 30 charges?
Take a look at this page and tell me that at least three lvl 50 weapons don't have stats that are near-identical:

It would have been too much like FFXI if the primals dropped multiple gear, and we know how much people hate for any FFXI concepts to creep up into XIV.
SE wanted to keep the suicide rate low![]()
