More like massive-lag-and-super-random-disconnects-sieged. Call me when 2.0's game engine is confirmed as capable of handling the large number of objects and players Besieged would have involved. Until then, no thanks.

Note: I understand the desire for something large scale like Besieged, but MMOs simply have not been able to handle such a thing in all the years I've been playing them. Lineage II castle sieges were super lagtastic and horrible fps. WoW's sole large scale event, the opening of the gates of Ahn'Qiraj, also created super lag, random DCs, getting killed by stuff that couldn't even load on the screen and so on. FFXI fared no better because of the shenannigans that took place in Besieged, including random DCs, not getting credit for the battle, zone lockouts and getting killed by stuff that hadn't even loaded on your screen.

    * The sad thing is that FFXIV turned RDM into a turret, and people think that's what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line like good little casters.

Let's work to find a way to put "Massively" back in MMO's.

also FFXI had player-area limitations. Think its 80 now.

Maybe instead of lots of lag. they could create more zones or only let players do random waves then get kicked out. Like say those 50players cant rejoin until 10mins afterwords the next fight.

    Wave1 50 mobs plus 1-2 bosses
    Wave2 50 mobs plus 1-2 bosses
    Wave3 mobs plus 1-2 bosses

Because random DC's, you not getting credit for the battle and dying to things that havent even loaded on the screen is so much fun, amirite?

Only 360 had a DC problem from what I remember. Only people that crashed on PC were due to a Windower Plugin failing during that encounter (which was later fixed.)

PS2 players I don't recall having many DC problems with Besieged, but did with Campaign (as did 360 users the first 6 months.)

I played on PC, and was still subject to random DCs and the game crashing due to exceeding the limits the game had. Loss of fps was not bad, but instead you had a delay in actions registering with the server because of how strained the game engine was by beseiged. Whatever stress tests SE ran before launching it were clearly not enough.
