I'm still convinced every "casual" gamer has no idea what they want. Despite all the b****ing, most of the casuals still played FFXI and put up with it. They just don't realize they were having fun, because people have a natural tendency to only isolate the negative point of view, such a the things that frustrated them.

I'm not too keen on the idea of removing sp, yet I can understand purchasing all your class skills from the guild, but only if some form of non-anima travel is introduced. In fact, anything that is found solely in one city and has a high degree of dependance on should only exist after non-anima travel is implemented. But that's a completely different topic.

I have to agree with that, the lack of chocobos and free random teleportation is an unacceptable situation that goes in the way of every immersion improvement and should be corrected as fast as possible.

I doubt that only applies to casual players. To understand what's "wrong" with a game you don't enjoy is always subjective, but when thousands of such people gather there is a good chance they will agree on some things that are at the root of it.

I like OP's idea because he seems to nail a side of the issue that is not evident, but strikes me immediately as true when i think about it.

The government covered up everything that was bad and wrong with the system. They told the people that everything was just OK an to deal with it.

What is SE covering up? They've already come out and said that they released a big steaming pile, were sorry for it, and are taking steps to rectify it. That doesn't sound like they are trying to razzle-dazzle anyone to me.
