    Actually, Crystal Tools is awesome... if you're designing a single-player game where you can control the number of moving elements on screen and work your combat engine around known graphical loading constraints. Works like a charm in XIII.

    It's selection as the engine for XIV where a real-time and highly responsive environment is desired - now THAT was the silly move.

    This is why the new engine in 2.0 has been designed for purpose. But that's the kind of fix that takes 2 years to implement, the culmination of which is just around the corner.

    As has already been said, this is a limitation of the current engine to only display 40 or so characters on screen at once. Yoshi-P himself already said this will not happen in 2.0. Welcome to like a year ago.

    Obviously, this happens in markets all the time. I rarely notice it happening in towns. I've never seen this happen in dungeons. The only instance i've seen it happen in is Hyrstmill hamlet defense. Sometimes 2 of 3 of the back line archers will disappear when a large wave of mobs comes in, but they appear again shortly thereafter. And if ur close enough to cure, they will be visible anyway. It's not a problem. Maybe your computer just sucks.

    I dont mean to scare you, but Yoshi has been relatively vague about this. Regarding the PS3 he clearly states that that will be an issue for players, they will have like 45-60 npcs and other players on the screen at a given time. Dont quote me on that. And for PC players it will be dependent on your hardware(which if we judge from the last 2 years, SE is quite poor at optimizing).

    Ultimately, I am hoping for improvement. I dont have the greatest computer but I went out and bought a gtx470 when the game first came out, and when i first started playing I was very disappointed.

    My PC should rock this game, I guess we'll just have to wait and see if they optimize things... or not. Here's hoping!

    I'm speaking for my server, just after posting this thread all the problems that a mention is obvious so bad that Excalibur has more issues than most servers. I'm assuming this is because of the higher population our server had. And yeah I expect them to put out a quality product. I have to assume as well that most of you still live with your parents and they provide you with things without working for it. So it would be a waste of my time to explain to you the value of dollar. But go ahead defend them bash me for speaking up.
