That is why we use FRAPS and pictures to show their behavior. When they are fighting a mob and when they're about to die they put their weapon away and regain HP and the mobs attacks don't hit them. Stuff like that, we record it all for reference. If some of us do take this to the level of publicly posting who is doing this, which btw i think is a bad idea. I do have a concern.
Please do not post anything without PROOF.
Several people use medians such as posts with lists of known botters and such in order to exact "revenge" on people they dont like with false accusations.
So if you have these lists forming, just please report them to the task force and leave it at that.
Do not post anything, period. Forums ain't a courthouse. You aren't here to publicly give names. There is the Special Task Force for that. Giving names publicly will only get you one thing : an edit/deletion and maybe a suspension. Proof or not. A screenshot isn't a proof and is void to SE eyes.
However reporting possible bugs/exploits to the dev team is always welcomed, yet I would suggest you to call a GM for that, in order to avoid making the exploit public, especially if it a major one.

As for botters, what people do not realize, once again, is that RMT will always be there as long as there will be customers to purchase their gils. As for "normal" players using exploit, just report them.
And i respect anyone who does this instead of just yelling out "So and so is a botter" "He told me so, no i dont have proof only my word" and so on and so forth.
Going mostly on the calling out of people on my server in several fansite forums, whereas in only 1 case was concrete proof ever given to the case of said thief/bot. And every other thread has seemed to be somewhat a smear campaign due to a disagreement between players(we all know how easy it is to just claim someone did something with no rpoof and get suckers to believe you).

Yeah thats 1 thing that always irked me, people detailing exploits in public forums......Bugs are one thing, but I used to know people in certain other games who camped the bug forums looking for people to post exploits so they could go and do them before they got locked out.Do not post anything, period. I would like to see them try to explain the exploits in these forums -.-;Yeah thats 1 thing that always irked me, people detailing exploits in public forums......Bugs are one thing, but I used to know people in certain other games who camped the bug forums looking for people to post exploits so they could go and do them before they got locked out.
Regarding exploitation of leves, it was interesting to see some screenshots that someone sent me links a little while ago (I won't post the links or the images here right now as I'm not sure whether that would result in my getting banned/suspended - though I believe you can find them on another popular forum site) to a conversation someone had had with a GM showing SE were aware of the Necrologos: Levinshower issue and were happy for people to continue doing it. Of course, that may have something to do with the fact that the issue was fixed in the last patch.
If this means that SE are "allowing" people to exploit certain issues because they are aware of them and are planning to fix them, or can potentially break out the banhammer in other situations, doesn't that send a mixed message? It's all well and good to take the high ground and say "then don't use any exploits at all", but if they've been "sanctioned" by SE until they're fixed, then all you're doing is depriving yourself of a potential opportunity for something (depending on what the exploit gives you).
Before anyone drops the "misunderstanding rant-hammer", my position on this issue: I would personally recommend the OP's advice in avoiding any exploit that you have identified, and to inform the GM's of this immediately.
However, I would also like to take this opportunity to suggest to whoever is watching these forums on SE's behalf that if SE becomes aware of any exploits, it would be sensible and proactive of them to make it immediately clear via the forums whether it is something SE is happy to continue (ie: you can go and do it until we fix it), or if SE will lay the smack down if you go near it before it is fixed (and in these situations, I feel most sorry for those few unsuspecting players that discover such an exploit accidentally once and get caught up in SE's blanket knee-jerk banhammer that tends to occur in these situations).
As for now I don't think the STF exist yet, as there are tons of bots... many of which are pretty hard to tell if bots or human these days because their so advanced now. They swap tools, change gear, use abilities, eat food (you can easily locate one and read the info on one on the internet). Surprised they don't get shutdown like windower did. Bots that exp, craft, harvest, fish, mine for you...
The "obvious" bots however hide in remote locations... you will find them in places that aren't normal for crafting like... the back of the THM guild, in the back of the pug guild, hiding under the galka NPC in GLD guild (so you don't see their white dot on mini radar). Outside uldah to the far left alongside the wall etc
I counted a dozen half of which were the top 25 on the server (according to ffxiv pro).

The leve mobs were force popped, so it was an exploit, if it so happened to spawn like that on the rare occurance, that was the glitch. Exploit and glitch are very different o.o
That's true. I did use the word exploit and not glitch, so I see no disagreement![]()
