Fingerless Raptorskin Gloves of Slaying (16STR)
    Felt Trousers (12STR, 16VIT)
    WAR AF Boots
    Storm Sergeant's Earrings
    Electrum Choker
    Storm Sergeant's Bracelet
    Electrum Ring
    Rubelite Ring

As for the advice on getting that extra +30 Attack power from the Axe, this is what I get after comparing the stats of what I'd be replacing with what I currently have (assuming I go the pants/boots route):

If replacing with Storm Gear, I Lose:
    13 HP
    2 STR
    21 VIT
    5 Parry
    7 DEF

If replacing with storm gear, I Gain:
    +30 Attack
    +30 EVA
    +10 DEX
    +10 ACC
    +7 Crit Power

Good trade-off? Thats a lot of VIT I'm losing.
Get a chest piece with some VIT. If you don't mind me asking, why do you have HP on a Hauby?

here's what I would do. Replace these:

Fingerless Raptorskin Gloves of Slaying (16STR) - get cobalt mitt gauntlets, Sentinels Gauntlets, or Cobalt Gauntlets with at least a double meld tier IV STR

Felt Trousers (12STR, 16VIT) - good choice, but I'd work on getting a double meld with Tier IVs

WAR AF Boots - for tanking, get double melded sentinel's gauntlets with HP, for DD either use the explorer's moccasins, or explorer's sabatons

    Electrum Ring - get a +1
    Rubelite Ring - get a +1

Because that's what you suggested in your tanking materia guide. Bloodthirst Materia is most desireable, according to you.

oi! let me fix that post then. My apologies. I've revised my guide on my LS site and apparently forgot to do it here.

Let me explain my meld strategy; basically you have a hierarchy of materia that should be like this:

    Enmity > STR > VIT > HP

If you can put enmity in a particular slot, do it. Put STR and VIT where you can with priority given to STR because the cap is higher. For every slot that's left, use HP.

Either way, HP isn't a terrible choice, its great for tanking, clearly. My confusion came more from your choice of gear to meld it to rather than the materia you put on it. The hauby is geared more for DD than for tanking.

That'd be most helpful. I lost quite a bit of gil, but it's nothing I can't get back after repairing the gear I did get melded and and selling it off. Also Snurble Tufts.

Also, I forgot to add my belt in my gear list. I have a Sentinel's Plate Belt with +22 Enmity.

I feel like I owe you something now that you've followed my unintentionally bad advice. Do you need some VIT materia for a chest piece? I have a handful of good tier IIIs (13s and 15s) and maybe some Tier IVs I can share.

Alright. So I was able to reset my stat points in order to get 23STR/22VIT. Now with the gear and materia I have, I have 303 VIT. The cap is at 310, right?

Well, that means that if I double-meld my felt pants with the +7/+7 Ironman's Will materia, that'll take me to 310 VIT. In this case, what should I add to my chestpiece since my VIT will be capped? Should it be a Bloodthirst materia?

Bloodwall would be better than Bloodthirst for tanking. It would make you less of an MP sponge.
