    My List:

    - Purposeful landmarks that NPC's inhabit. Think: Lighthouses, farms, sentry posts, shrines, houses, drinking taverns, etc.

    - Vendors in the field that sell unique items, have their own shop, etc.

    - NPC's that interact with one another.

    - NPC's that appear during certain times; day and night cycle.

    - Roaming NPC's on the field that will occasionally engage in battle if provoked by an enemy.

    - Roaming NPC's on the field that can be seen gathering from trees, bushes, rivers, oceans, mines, etc.

    - Removal of instanced areas such as the Ashcrown Consortium in Gridania and The Path of the Twelve in Ul'dah, and giving them each their own physical location within the cities.

As far as NPCs they should take a page from .hack//IMOQ/G.U. and let us interact with NPCs that are either stationary or a few that are always running somewhere. In those games you could even trade with them and for decent items to a certain degree lol. I'm not saying we should take it that far but that was a pretty decent shot considering it was trying to mimic the feel of an MMO.

Making of the Realm #4 - Could this be why Eorzea's so lifeless?

He sounds as if he's been heavily sedated or lobotomized.

Joking aside, it's sad to see the huge discrepancy from the artwork --> game.

For any of these changes to happen, we'll need an in-game world that can accommodate them.

Id like to see some ruins, something small but explorable. It would break the boring landscape. You know...just little additions something to go look at.

I'd also like to see mobs that fight each with other mobs (like FFXIII)

I mentioned it in another thread, but it would be great to see enemy outposts that we can work together to overtake (hopefully scaling depending on participation). When near one of these active events, an icon shows up with your notifications and you can click it to join the party. When you successfully take one of these outposts, the group is rewarded with items, experience, or perhaps a buff (maybe even for everyone in the zone) while you keep that outpost.

The outposts that players have taken can then be attacked by mobs and a new event to defend the outpost begins (at random intervals like every 15 to 45 minutes for that specific location). Successfully defending can yield rewards or maintain the buff or whatever benefit it happens to be.

Active conflicts can show up on the main and mini maps for those interested. Of course, with something like this, people would be teleporting more so Anima would probably have to be adjusted or removed accordingly. Unless we get some Chocobos, however!

I would love to see more variation also. As exampled from above posts, a few things to break up the world we explore. Ruins, strange trees, small streams etc. Also, signs of life not too long gone, such as rusty gates, a busted up barn etc.

Also, small things like going over a wooden bridge, i'd like it to wobble a bit. more so if more people are on it

In the Cities tho, One idea would be for the adventurers guild. A barmaid who collects mugs and serves drinks to tables. I imagine the npc adventurers get very thirsty sitting there with nothing to drink lol

Also, the odd man or two shouting out his wares. An example, a Baker shouting "buy your bread, fresh bread to buy". Something like that. And of course, you will be able to buy bread from him haha.

Random events would be fun also. Such as a road closed due to a recent attack. you may have to do a quest to open it, or simply wait.

Seeing as there are 12 god/goddesses, there could be an event each month to celebrate that months god. These could be varied in many ways and last say a week (max). This owuld keep things fresh and vibrant

I vote for a more alive and immersive world.

This sounds like a great idea for group PvE content! Why can't Square Enix be this imaginative?

There is similar stuff out there. Since Yoshi-P actually plays other games, perhaps he is already trying to implement something like it. Here's to hoping!
