Actually, the big draw of Legacy isn't the chocobo so much as it is the subscription fee discount. That's why I signed up when they first announced it. I was originally going to wait till the PS3 release, but I'd have missed out if I had

I wasn't able to get my Legacy status until I bought a 90 day bulk amount, rather than three 30-day payments. I even made the purchase with credit card to get around waiting for Crysta to deplete too. Could be easier than that, but I wouldn't count on it.Ok so, here's my scenario, I had 1000 crysta that I bought back in oct of last year, then I quit and never used the crysta, I then reactivated my account last month, I bought more crysta and applied it, so now ive used 2k crysta which equals two months basically, I bought a third 1k of crysta, but I cant seem to apply it, and even if I do will this count towards my 90 days? Please someone let me know asap.

I was in the same boat. $10 price tag with 8/40 toons for free? Win. The Chocobo is just extra credit.
My question is, when 2.0 comes out, will they do another Collector's Edition or pre-order bonus stuff with new special noob gear? I don't know about you, but I still have my Onion Helm, and those FFXIII Armguards. And I am a whore for the free/bonus loot.

So my apologies for this question, but I want to be sure.
I'm in the same boat as Syldra, where I had purchased the game back in October of 2011, and then unsubbed. I recently resubbed a couple weeks ago, and signed up for the 30 day option. Then I discovered the legacy program and changed my sub to 90 days, since I was having fun and thought it'd be worth it.
Now they've announced that doing that really won't work, because after July 1st if you're on the 90 day plan it won't actually successfully charge you. However, the FAQs state that you have to have paid 90 days worth of time before the start of 2.0 beta testing.
So while it can be inferred from the deadlines posted and how the FAQs are worded that 2.0 beta testing won't start until September, I was wondering if there is a post by Square anywhere that definitely confirms this fact. I want to make sure that even on the 30 day plan, I will still qualify for legacy. Any help would be appreciated.
If I subscribed for the game today (July, 30-day renewal) and I keep the subscription active until the release of 2.0 assuming 90 cumulative days, will I still receive the Legacy rewards? /thxFirst and foremost, to help clarify one of the main points of confusion that is popping up:
To be eligible for the Legacy campaign, you must pay for 90 days cumulative between January 6th and the start of version 2.0 beta testing. (As stated in the Legacy Campaign announcement)
Today's announcement was to notify players that the 90-day subscription option will be removed at the end of this month. Since that option may affect how some qualify for Legacy, we listed a few examples in the announcement.
It seems that those may have been unclear, so we prepared a more in-depth FAQ for all.
I have paid for 90 cumulative days of subscription since the start of billing; does that mean I qualify for the Legacy campaign?
Yes. You can confirm your Legacy status using one of three methods:
I've paid for 30 cumulative days of subscription since the start of billing, what do I need to do to qualify for the Legacy campaign?
- We will periodically send out notification emails to those that qualify for the Legacy campaign.
- The Legacy logo will be displayed when logging into the Square Enix Account Management System and visiting the "FINAL FANTASY XIV" service account section found within the "Select Service" menu.
- The Legacy logo will be displayed in the upper left corner of the Character Select screen when logging into the game.
You will need to pay a further 60 days of subscription before the start of the version 2.0 beta test to be able to fulfill the requirements needed to qualify for the Legacy Campaign.

I played before the start of billing and I am no longer in my 30-day Free Trial period. What do I need to do to qualify for the Legacy campaign?
You will need to register a 90-day subscription option to your account before June 30th, 2012 to be able to fulfill the requirements needed to qualify for the Legacy Campaign.

Hopefully this will clear up any questions that you all might have!
Wow, that sucks especially since the subscription is between $9.99 /mth for legacy and $14.99/mth for standard once v2.0 is released. I don't know if the the principle of paying additional 50% for the same product would allow me to continue with this game.
I was hoping "to be eligible for the Legacy campaign, you must pay for 90 days cumulative between January 6th and the start of version 2.0 beta testing." is accurate to the letter, and the June 30th, 2012 deadline only affected those on a free trial account while they phase out the 90-day subscription payment plan.
Can I get a second confirmation that I am no longer eligible for the Legacy rewards? It would make the difference of continuing subscribing to this game. /thx
You could possibly sneak in if you get to pay for your 3rd month before the beta starts. No one knows the exact date of it but it will most likely be between Sept. and Oct. It would be all luck at this point but if beta doesn't start before Sept 18th you could be eligible. Good luck.

You should study the subscription plans a bit better, in that case.Wow, that sucks especially since the subscription is between $9.99 /mth for legacy and $14.99/mth for standard once v2.0 is released. As it stands now, there will be an "entry" subscription plan that lets you create up to 8 characters, but only one per server, and this plan will cost $10.99. Legacy will cost $9.99, and the standard plan will cost $12.99.
I don't know where you got $14.99/month from. Depending on how many characters you feel that you need, you won't have to pay more than one dollar more. If I didn't qualify for legacy, I would just have picked the entry-level plan and not even complain. Even the standard plan can easily compete with most other p2p MMOs on the market today.

My friend is set to pay for their third month now on the 24th of July. Im presuming they will qualify for legacy after that payment?
