You meant this English thread has http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/threads/19533-My-graditude.-Please-show-yours"]The man gets 3-5 hours of sleep a night, travels the world, and is attempting to do something no one has ever done before: revive a failed MMO.
What have you done, lately? (trolled the topic, you win internets?)
Edit:
BTW, this thread in the JP forum has been cheering Yoshi-P on since mid 2011, and has 1200+ posts, all/most of which give Yoshi a hearty pat on the back and wish him good health. It has rarely if ever left the first page.
Meanwhile, we NA twats can't even get to page 3 of a well-wishing topic without inserting some asinine comment like, "pfft I already pay his wages".
GG, dumbasses.
I mean, as much bad hate you guys give me.
I'd gladly make some Louisiana Moonshine for the guy ^_^

Heck, this is why I've been paying for XIV since it was possible to. Yoshi-P and the entire dev team! This is one topic I don't mind if the NA forum rehashes over and over![]()
7UP!
After we buy him the beers, we'll lock him in his bedroom for a week to catch up on sleep!
I have a lot of respect for how FFXIV has changed in the past few months. It originally felt like a chore to login and level my first job to 50, but after a lot of the changes I genuinely started enjoying the game. My hat's off to Yoshi and crew, or rather /display head off.
Err..wut? God, I hope that was a lame joke on your end.
More on topic...
I'll be honest. I was downright pissed when FFXIV launched. I felt doubly betrayed as both a customer and a fan of the FF series because of how horrible FFXIV and FFXIII were. Those two games were the straw that broke the proverbial camels back. After years of FFXI the blatant disregard for their customers and their work made it too much.
It made me very bitter and very angry. That much is a fact on my end.
I quit FFXIV when subs started, feeling angry and bitter all over again because I did not believe that at the time FFXIV was not a game that was worth paying for.
I started up again during the Welcome Back Campaign (If I remember the name of the event correctly). I was also recommended the game by a close friend. Despite my suspicions I decided to try it out again.
I was pleasantly surprised by what I found. The game had become playable for one!
I was able to actually enjoy the game, more or less. Granted, some derp moments were involved (level 60+ mobs? why are they even in the game?) on both my part and the games, but over all I was able to have fun.
However, this does not mean that the game is ready for the world. It does not mean that the game is "complete" or OMFGWTFBBQAMAZING!!! At least not by my standards.
What it does mean is that the game has progressed enough to return some of the trust SE took away with the launch of FFXIV and FFXIII. What it means is that, I - as a fan and a customer, am cautiously optimistic about 2.0.
Now, I won't sing praises of anyone and I certainly won't throw speculations about 2.0 simply because it is far too early for that.
However, I will give my thanks to Yoshida and the dev team for their hard work. Yes, they are paid for that work but my thanks is a recognition of the hard work that was done, not the work that is yet to come.
I will also give my thanks to Yoshida and the dev team for restoring a some faith into SE for me. If it weren't for them I can honestly say that I wouldn't be playing SE games anymore.
Those are my experiences with Yoshida and FFXIV. Granted, they are experiences that happened online but that doesn't invalidate them seeing as they're my experiences.
As far as 2.0 is concerned, I reserve judgment until it actually comes out.
When I thought about buying YoshiP a beer, this popped in my mind: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LXDm8-Sm0t0 :3
Yoshi, I've got my mind set on you.
Why do you think everyone lives in their moms basement? Do you live in your moms basement? Im failing to see the problem if someone actually did.
Im sure Yoshi earns enough money doing a DREAM JOB to buy himself a damn beer.
/em reads this thread.
-100 faith in humanity points
Not to mention you enjoyed his work for a little while before Jan 2012 without paying a cent of "his paycheck".
