    Abysmal Supply missions reward

    So I'm tired of both NM camping and Caravan and decided to check out Supply Missions. I see that I can trade in steel ingots for seals, cool I thought. Then I saw that I got 6 flame seals per ingot. If I trade in 10 of them I would be a proud owner of 60 flame seals. At this rate it would be much, much quicker to just do either NM camping or Caravan.

    Is there something I'm missing here? Are there better options for seals vs materials for DoHs?

    It's a way to get rid of your unused supplies, I don't think it was ever intended to be a fast way of grinding seals.

    I could just make something out of the ingots and npc the end result for 4.5k gil or sell the ingot in the wards for 8k instead of trading it in for 6 flame seals.

    It is a very 'expensive' way of acquiring seals. Most of the things you can turn in sell for a good value on the wards. It IS an option if, for whatever reason, you acquire some materials that you do not need, can not sell on wards, and not worth selling to NPCs. So there may be some benefit to some DoL depending on what they are gathering.

    I can not imagine it being helpful to DoH as there is usually a profitable (or break even) recipe they could rely on.

    That being said: If you care not about money, then it is a 'fast' way to get seals. If you are fast enough to turn it in. And it leads to achievements (which is perhaps its main reward now?).

    On that note... 5000 Tomato Pies... Can I have it? ^.^;

    Well they increased the seals from caravan but didn't change the seals for leves or grand company provision, both of which have fallen into disfavour with players.

    As others have said its not really an efficient way of doing things.

    I thought they had increased the amount of seals you get for Grand Company levequests recently? And I'm not sure if provision has fallen into disfavour as I still find it usually full before I go visit to turn in things.

    Gc leaves did get a boost its possible to get over 200 per leve. Provisioning rewards have not been touched.

    Max reward for GC leve is 240 seals (90 for leve, 50 for performing correct objective and 100 for difficulty), if you do the /poke leve you can finish it in around 5-6 mins.
    Provisioning/Supplying reward is dependent on the level of the item you hand in. Steel Ingot is very low lvl unfortunately, and handing in finished item always yield more than handing in Material. HQ also double your reward.

    I always do the supply quests that have smaller limits, but larger returns. (craft skill allowing) They tend to get maxed out pretty quickly the first go around then reset after 28 hours. You can anticipate what you need to craft by using this chart:

    http://www.disciplesoftheland.com/Gr...panyItems.aspx

    The list changes every Sunday morning at 8AM pacific time. You can use the above list to determine what's worthwhile to craft and craft items in advance to turn in. Once the turn-ins max out, check the timer to see when it will reset, have a bunch of items pre-crafted and turn-in again. Keep repeating as often as you need. I did this on Mythril Mesails the week it was up to grind out a bunch of seals to get my key item for getting relics (not that I'm actually doing it...) and will probably do it again so I can get my Lt. GC rank.
