No new FFXIV info until mid August.

I don't mind patch delays (assuming they aren't ridiculous) I'm simply pointing out that he was wrong by saying every patch releases on time.

I do mind erroneous and misconstrued promises. When the trailer wasn't at E3, I was a miffed but I felt pretty happy that they promised we would get a teaser site with new information and have rapid information all summer long. This has yet to be the case, and summer isn't going to last forever.

Its all in time with the pdf which they uploaded on their homepage.. i dont care about 1-2 weeks of delay, if it is within the time schedule:

1.21 dec/jan, 1.22 constantly realesed between feb and may, 1.23. is going to be released at the end of july. etc.

starting the promotion campaign until mid of august.
so, no surprise at all that the campaign is starting ... tada* until the middle of august.


i cant even read complains like that anymore. (where is the teaser site? where are the new videos?) just wait and see..

I think a lot just seems to be lost in translation since we have the following:
-Trailer no show at E3
-XIV 2.0 site was said to be released soon after (bout 3-4 weeks later)
-Site finally goes live but with a trickle of info
-Hopefully it is updated from a weekly base now since if they put a dinky site with just info from E3 then ignored it til mid-august that wouldn't be a smart idea lol.

I still say that they had things set on time sensitivity to the stuff that we saw last week was actually planned as if they had released the trailer for some reason they decided not to release the floodgate right off the bat though you would think hyping people during the summer would be better then hyping people near the end of summer as school and such may be starting for some people.

The problem with the teaser site atm is it's just that a "teaser" but it doesn't offer any information that an MMOer would actually find useful, they are just "pretty" pictures and the ones who put this site up should realize that "pretty" pictures did nothing for XIV 1.0 cause sure the game may have looked pretty on the outside but the overall game mechanics were ugly.

They should get on the ball with actually putting "features" into the site since that's what people play an MMO for they don't play it just to see "ooh pretty pictures" they play it for the content so as it stands now the site they have up is just as good as if there was no site at all. Hopefully that can change by the end of the week but the longer they hold off on updating the site the less likely people who aren't playing the game are willing to go back and check said site for updates. If they want to make an impact with 2.0 they gotta get on the ball with releasing words that mention features of the game instead of relying on graphics to grab peoples attentions. Since they tried that once before and it blew up in their face lol

Have you got a majority share in Square Enix or something? Nearly every post by you seems to be defending everything they do.

I'd love to have stock with them right now. In their condition, stock would be pretty cheap and set for some pretty assured growth.

But no, I defend against inane complaints that never cease and are beyond the constraints of logic. Example:

If they can't provide the information they shouldn't make baseless claims. I wouldn't have been irritated if they hadn't promised a summer full of information.

Except when they realized the E3 situation wasn't good for them to start releacing info, they updated the schedule, told us, and Yoshi even gave reasoning for it in a Producer Letter.

Ask a progress report for such things out of Bioware, or NCSoft, or pretty much any other company, especially ones that cross language barriers, and you'll find yourself shut out at the door.

The reasons why I defend not Square Enix, but Yoshi and Crew, is because they're taking the course of this company in the right direction. And instead of complaining at every possible avenue when something doesn't work out, they should be thoroughly encouraged to be more open and honest with us.

What did you think you were going to gain in your negatively constructed Thread post? You want to value your personal conviction about your disappointment, why don't you take a look at the damage that was done to community relations over at BioWare over the MassEffect 3 endings. The mods now look down on their base and BioWare is more tight-lipped then they've ever been. I don't want that happening here. I want the opposite.

Personally, on the matter of game info, yeah, I'm a bit miffed I didn't get my expected dose of hype, I'll admit that. But I don't have to be overtly vocal about it without having some idea for an alternative in mind.

IN FACT, while we're on the subject of alternatives -

If we can't get in-game information about 2.0 - I would LOVE some insight about the experience of reconstructing this game from the developers, not just Yoshi-P, cause we hound that guy enough for info and he writes us regular reports, but from other people in the crew. Just a translated blog post about the general feeling around the office, the experience of reconstructing a world, or destroying it in the case of the 1.xx team.

If we've got to wait, I'd like something besides a blackout. Some subsidiary treats to bide the time with. Ideas like that in your first thread post would have gone over MUCH better to many of the forum members. I think we can all agree we want as much info as we can sink our teeth into as soon as humanly possible.

But there's no point of saying "I'm Hungry!" when everyone on the ship is starving - get me?

A community rep also mentioned something about Laura Craft having to defend herself against attempted rape, yet the company maintains that that's distinctly not true.

This may be a case where it's appropriate to shoot the messenger. Rukkirii should double-check her source and relay the fact that we're expecting more than just concept art of RSE.

(Ya did forget that that's considered info by their standards, didn't ya?)
