A question in regards to the Alumina salts. Is it possible to get the 6th chest even without having completed the Aurum Vale portion? I was with my group last night alternating between Aurum and Cutter's but at after Chimaira I didn't see a 6th chest. I was wondering why not. (We didn't get the 17m clear unfortunately).

No you HAVE to do AV first. Then when you have your Mythril you go back to Gerolt and he tells you to go to CC. You have to do it in that order, and you have to make sure that he's specifically told you to go there.

so about the double melds, i understand that hq is best way to go ( if ya have the cash and luck ) but can it be non hq Tier IV materia as well ?
cause i am aiming for pld relic, but if i want that done i need to get over 300 mil lol, i have a hard time allready getting to 10 >.<

As long as it is T4 materia of the requested type, that's all you need.

This is just silly for a weapon. Seems counter productive and alot of time put in for not much return. Just the hamlet seals take forever let alone the double meld (ive failed 4x times already ><). Its just plain expensive otherwise. Hopefully they cut some parts out when 2.0 comes out.

Relics aren't supposed to be easy or for everybody. In fact compared to ffxi, they seem far too easy to obtain here given how many people already have them, or all of them...
