You have a 50/50 shot based on what he said and no, it's not close. An Alpha is closeish yes, they let people register at the 2010 Vanafest for XIV which the alpha started a few months later, so 2 months till alpha maybe 3 till beta.

my laptop melted so ima have to buy the game all over again for ps3 ;; x2 (for me and my wife) if you have to run the disc to play like xi on 360 :/ hope it stores to hard drive like ps2.. bought 320gb in January for xiv lol that and traded my 360 to gamestop.
