Also, there are no paralyze/poison/silence/absorb/slow and there aren't any plans to implement them before the launch of version 2.0. However, as we move forward, if it becomes absolutely necessary to utilize them, we will look into it.
Yes, we all read that, but it doesn't mention cure. At one point I thought it meant that in the future there would be water-based attack spells, I even requested additional info on that thread or a similarly themed one, but to this day, nothing has been clarified about this. I, for one, would like for the offensive-spell array and the intended relationships to the elemental wheels to be preserved in full symmetry. In this spirit, water should not lack an offensive spell. And if one element is used for enhancing/healing, then all other elements should also acquire buffs and/or heals.

If there is 6 elements. water, wind, earth, fire, ice, and lightning. Which one do you think Cure will fall upon? Since cnj can only use water, wind, and earth elements that narrow the choices down.

I don't know about you, but when I cast Cure, to me it sounds like water. So I think its water type until I'm proven wrong.

    edit:
    stoneskin is obviously earth
    esuna sounds like wind.

I'm just going by observation until a rep confirms this of course

I'd wager that Cure and Protect are supposed to be the "water-based" spells, however the water stat doesn't seem to have any effect on Cure. Not sure if it was ever tested with Protect, only that VIT increased your enhancing potency. This is something I'd really like to know... Aside from attack magic, does magic potency for a specific element boost the parameters for support spells?

For example, does stacking into Water Potency boost Cure, Cura, or Curaga? Would it affect things like Protect or Regen? If you use the Serpent Sergeant's Wand (+50 Earth Potency) would this strengthen Stoneskin? Wonder if the Devs will ever post a reply to that question...
