If Sil'dih was buried by a switch from an Astral to Umbral era, what's to say that Sil'dih can't be partially un-buried by another such switch?

Elexia said it best.Somehow I highly doubt it'll happen unless that's part of the "each area will have multiple themes", since it seems unlikely given the current ruins you can find and SOMEWHAT explore in a way, they liter with monsters that'll attack you for more than you'll ever have HP wise, almost as if to say "why are you exploring? Gtfo" like they don't want you there lol.
In XI a lot of ruins were indeed left over from ancient times or war times (Sauro is mostly fortifications during the Crystal War) and since in XIV we know that something big happened in the past, you'd expect to see a fair bit more, but a lot of Garlean controlled areas aren't even open to us yet.
In 2.0 we'll probably get something with an expansion at some point, but I think the MAIN thing they need to do is redo the damn attribute system if they're going to liter ACTUAL PLACES YOU SHOULD SEE WITH MONSTERS WHO CAN ONE HIT YOU >__> There's also a city in the sky we'll eventually have to explore which I hope they can make it rival Ru`Aun Gardens in terms of lore and functionality and not something lazily thrown in just to have new zones.
...until Ul'dah crushes your blaspheming asses!
Speaking of ruins, did they ever use that room in the back of that Ant place near Nophicas?
It would be cool if, in the future, the Ruins of Sil'dih were used as a raid instance full of undead.
The aquaducts? They used it for part of the 7th umbral era events. You got teleported there and had to fight with doomsday cultists.
There's an ancient ruins spot in the Black Shroud towards the north up past Treespeak called the Gelmorra Ruins. I posted some pictures up some time ago but it was pretty much this broken down stone circle with a large pit in the center. Several tiny amber stones similar to Amberscale rock surround the area too. Now regarding Sil'dih I have a good idea it's probably somewhere located beneath the area now known as Halatali. Several leves in that area deal with the undead, and there's even a locked gate within Little Ala Mihgo at the farthest reaches. Under it might once have even been the pathway to the city that was barricaded/buried. However since the maps are being redone it likely doesn't exist yet.

Given that Limsa is the remains of the largest ship ever that crashed into the shore, Probably not, unless you count perchance part of the ship underwater or something like that. Though I do wonder what they;er going to do about our big sea monster friend in the Limsa opening Cinematic,,
