Very interesting. Guess I should read more cut-scenes/NPC text instead of skipping them/spamming through the text![]()

It's interesting you bring up Sil'dih. I ran across an NPC in the conjurer's guild that spoke of a city beneath Gridania too. It was not Sil'dih that was referred to, but it seems they share a common trait.
Both appear to be ruins beneath these current cities.
Maybe there is something more to these?
I now wonder if anyone in Limsa speaks of a city buried under Limsa Lominsa.

Given that Limsa is the remains of the largest ship ever that crashed into the shore, Probably not, unless you count perchance part of the ship underwater or something like that. Though I do wonder what they;er going to do about our big sea monster friend in the Limsa opening Cinematic,,

The only thing I can think of is that, if I recall correctly, the Mizzenmast Inn (along with much of Limsa) is the remains of an incredibly large ship that landed there. I don't remember what became of the ship or why it eventually became part of the city though. It's interesting you bring up Sil'dih. The ship didn't become part of the city, the ship is the city.
http://ffxiv.gamerescape.com/wiki/Limsa_LominsaLegend holds that Limsa Lominsa was founded shortly after the remnants of a giant armada fled from its homeland following a crushing defeat. Llymlaen is said to have taken pity on the plight of these brave sailors, and guided them to the shallows of a rocky bay where their ships were grounded upon the sharp rocks. With no home to return to, the sailors chose to settle in this newly-found land, and use the remnants of their vessels to begin construction of a city.
However, the sailors never forget their nautical backgrounds, and once a new fleet was in order, they would take to the waters again. It was only a matter of time before their influence spread and they ruled the five seas of Eorzea. Thus, the Limsan thalassocracy was born.
Remnants of this legend live on even today in the nation's ruling party, whose members still address their leader as Admiral.

Well, if Nenekko does as she says, she will spend her time making sure Sil'dih isn't forgotten! I really hope she makes a return in 2.0, because I absolutely fell in love with her!

That is pretty interesting to read. Would explain why there are zombies in various Ul'Dah guildleves. It would be cool in the future they took Sil'dih's ruins and made it into a dungeon. Would be fun and very lore friendly.

This is what i love about the Final Fantasy MMO's - theres a feeling to the world, a history to embellish the storylines, a reason to go exploring the maps to see if you find traces of mentioned places or events..
