it would be technically unfeasible to have no limits on the amount of stuff you can sell at once. The limits aren't there to inconvenience you, they're there to keep the server system from being overloaded.

I could also see this being heavily abused as people would use it for extra inventory space. Since, when you put an item on ah, it clears an inventory space out.
I'm ok with how it is, tbh...but it can get frustrating sometimes.

I could totally see SE doing this. I could also see the Servers crashing and needing to be restarted every 5 minutes of every day from this option.

With the markets in their current state, unlimited selling space is just an unreasonable request.
1. While SE did make it so you could shop all 3 wards from each city, most people still only check Uldah/sell in uldah etc.
2. You can only see 20 items for sale at a time...so for certain items, like HQ'd lightning brands, you still have to search each floor of the wards one by one. Allowing people to sell 50 lightning brands on the same retainer at the same time will just make this worse.
3. Markets out of balance enough...this would just increase supply and plummet demand=a huge crash in prices.
Basically, the retainer system/sales system we have now helps balance the economy and make it so it is not quite as easy for one player to curb the market/set prices. Other games might allow for different strategies, but their whole support system is different. It's comparing apples to oranges. But really, take the advice of some of the helpful folk in this thread and stack and sell what you can, NPC or donate to friends the odd drops you get in small amount that aren't worth alot/don't sell quick. Always have your retainers fully stocked with stuff for sale, and plan your crafting sessions around how quickly you can sell. Hold 'sales' on your retainer when your inventory gets too large (which IS what the real world retailers do...) But at the end of the day, it's all about your ability to maintain and balance your inventory/retainers that gets you in and out of 'inventory space issues' . We currently have over 500 inventory slots for heavens sake...work around it.

they could just make a single server just for the AH/MW then well be set

I see that even despite the warning in the OP, several people seem to have fallen victim to some sort of mental illness. Anyway,
#1, that is interesting that people come here just to bitch. You'd think they spent all day with a frustrating market system or something and just had no love left over. Har har har.I love how people come here just to bitch, don't you guys have better things to waste your time on, instead of nitpicking the littlest of details.. no.. didn't think so...
I would love if we had more selling space, I could help out the low level people while still keeping myself content with selling high level gear/HQ Mats.. I think if we received a space allotment of 20 for selling of goods, I'd be be happy. 20 seems reasonable enough and wouldn't take too much resources compared to an unlimited type AH.
#2, why settle for 20?
Let's not kid ourselves, 10 slots is due to shitty engineers, nothing else. WoW came out in 2004 and it has effectively unlimited space. It also has millions of players and alts using that space, and it never crashed while I was playing it. So now that it's 2012, your suggestion is that we go back to pre-2004 standards?
Abuse as in.. using a system for a reason other than its intended purpose? My God, what was its intended purpose? We must all make haste to please the massa lest we gets whipped.
And also, there is a fee to list items in WoW that deters from this, though most of the time its worth a small amount of currency to quickly store your inventory - though you'll still have to manage it sooner or later.
Find me an mmo that lets you put an "unlimited" amount of items in market and ill find you 100+ mmos that dont. If you ever find an mmo that does that lol. Also WoW has a limit too fyiOh, really? Go play some more MMOs and get back with me.

You're trippin' son. All I heard was "I know of 100s of shitty games that aren't as good as a game that came out in 2004, and also, that game from 2004 isn't as well-designed as you said it is, so let's pipe down all this talk about improving systems!"

oh for the love of god, if you wanna play WOW, go play it, and stop whine here
