    It really depends on the approach and the individuals.

    Both Japanese and English speakers may have rose-colored spectacles. When the two parties interact, there can be mutual enjoyment/benefit/sexiness.

    edit: I think if the tactics of both speakers were more uniform, there would be less an issue with parties. But it's difficult to convey in auto-translate that the tank is planning to kite enemies around or if English speakers position a boss in one spot (thus English speakers familiar with the fight respond accordingly) versus Japanese speakers positioning the boss in a different location that is familiar to them.

    Flexibility is key. A small amount of Japanese or the reverse, a small amount of English, can go a long way.
