It isn't as difficult now, since you can search all the wards from every city. Doing so is still more convoluted than it needs to be, but it's getting better all the time.the thing i absolutely HATE about this system is the limits the wards have. if you make a system and design a server to have x amount of people design the wards to fix X times 2 amount of retainers. i know theres grid and limsa wards but good luck selling anything there.
Uh yeah, funny considering on Durandal I know for a fact my brother sells pretty much everything between Ul'dah and Limsa wards...you don't need luck to sell in the other wards when if you actually check Limsa/Grid (you obvious don't) you would see that there's more reasonably priced gear and items in those wards compared to Ul'dah at times, especially in regards to Materia.the thing i absolutely HATE about this system is the limits the wards have. if you make a system and design a server to have x amount of people design the wards to fix X times 2 amount of retainers. i know theres grid and limsa wards but good luck selling anything there.
I feel guilty about this post, because I will confess to doing this. Though not out of spite or any particularly negative motivation (in fact, my reason for lowering the price isn't even related to undercutting to have to lowest prices as I will explain). I merely keep track of the cost to produce a given item, decide on an appropriate markup (usually on the order of 50-80%), then sell it at that price regardless of the current price on the market. I apologize if that has caused sellers problems, but I don't see why buyers should have to put up with 100-300% markups when it takes an average crafter less than 30 minutes to make a days worth of salable goods.
Quite simply, many products just simply aren't worth what people are asking for them.
This is completely opposite to the way economy was in XI. where if you didnt HQ an item you have absolutely no chance of even breaking even let alone making a profit. i think a Happy medium can be achieved somewhere.I feel guilty about this post, because I will confess to doing this. What I was saying is that i had both my retainers in the grid wards for 2 weeks and didnt sell a single thing, then my friend let me take oen of his spots in the uldah wards and all my stuff sold in 2 days. not saying ABSOLUTELY NO ONE checks the other wards. I'm saying most people are too lazy to bother. using the other wards is like running a commercial at 4am. only about 2% of the people who might want your product are going to know youre trying to sell it.Uh yeah, funny considering on Durandal I know for a fact my brother sells pretty much everything between Ul'dah and Limsa wards...you don't need luck to sell in the other wards when if you actually check Limsa/Grid (you obvious don't) you would see that there's more reasonably priced gear and items in those wards compared to Ul'dah at times, especially in regards to Materia.
I hate how people can see how much people are selling things for. I loved how selling was anon in FFXI, it also helped prevent undercutting a lot, though it was there, it was prevented less. I do know people could put something that was a mil at 100gil and sell it before other people but the price of an item still stayed at a mil. In this game, you have the prices of soo many things fluctuate. Sometimes its 200k, sometimes its back up to 1mil, sometimes its back to 200k. Although this happened in FFXI it didn't happen as much as here.
IMO the FFXI AH is far superior compared to the retainers/wards.
What does the word "Snip" meant? i have never used it , dont even know what it means (English not my main language).
And about your coment, i dont knopw why you even touchin that subject out of place, i never ever mentioned anything like that, im just implyin i like the way retainers make it so the seller be anonimous... something that even on biddings at real life is very apreciated by vary valid reasons.... have you ever put things for sale on a site such like E-Bay or MercadoLibre?... Does PAYPAL rings you? there is a reason wich such exist....
