I see what you are saying but I think the issue a lot of people have atm are they want to be able to log in and do stuff with pick up groups. I remember in XI nearly everything could be done with pick up groups...the only reason why people made statics was to have a set time that worked for everyone and to work out drops. But the content on the other hand could always be done with pickups..that is what made XI so great and easy to meet new people/make friends.

That is probably because FFXI is a very easy game content-wise lol, however they also have tough content or at least requires much more strategy like Salvage, in that case you don't see alot of pick up for Salvage do you?
