Regarding the legacy campaign announcement- New deadline?

I see... Yeah, that page says nothing about the deadline, but the Lodestone front page does if you scroll down.

Yeah, I misread it... Here is what you are talking about.

"Players Currently Within the 30-Day Free Trial Period
Players who began playing as of May 2012 and have registered for a 90-day period before June 30, 2012 will be able to fulfill the requirements needed to qualify for the Legacy Campaign. "

I read that to mean "As of May 2012, players who have registered for a 90-day period before June 30, 2012..."

What it should say is this. "Players who registerd ON OR BEFORE May 31,2012 who have registered for a 90-day period before June 30, 2012..."

I see the error in my logic now. Maybe they will update the other page as well so that others are not mislead as I was. It will not keep me from playing, I am having a blast! LOL Just got my hopes up. That will teach me to count my Chocobos before they hatch!

Actually, here is what I meant:

We have received questions from the community regarding when they need to begin playing FINAL FANTASY XIV if they wish to qualify for the Legacy Campaign.

In order to fulfill the requirements for the Legacy Campaign, a player must register his/her copy of the game no later than Thursday, May 31, 2012, and have subscribed for a minimum of 90 days beyond the conclusion of your free trial period.

Information regarding the transition from the current game to version 2.0 will be announced on the Lodestone in the future.

I KNOW I do not qualify since I started the game merely 2 weeks ago but they should really remove this promotion from the website because I kinda bought the game now thinking it was right time to get some advantages over 2.0... but will get nothing

Just to check, the registration In or Before May can go as far back as last year doesn't have any additional checks as to whether the player has played since pay-to-play?

Have a friend who for whom it might be advisable to jump in and grab a 90-day subscription within the next few days. He hasn't played since f2p, but has been registered since around July 2011 or so. Would he still be able to get the Legacy discount as long as he buys the 90-day by June 30th?

Since his account was created before May 31, 2012, all he would need to do is pay for his 90-day subscription before June 30.

If you registered after May 31 you're not eligible no matter what kind of subscription you pay for.
