That's exactly what I thought! Bring on the big changes that are going to lead into 2.0!

I've been looking forward to this since the day the 2.0 PDFs first hit. It's going to be a rough 1 month plus wait. Even after 1.23 hits, I expect more changes to gradually hit the in-game world with 1.23a, 1.23b, etc.

I can't wait to watch the world transform!

I think that "midsummer" is being used here in the more general sense of "the middle of summer" (i.e. late July-early August) rather than the "Midsummer" celebrations in Europe, which are centered around the solstice.

That Odin screenshot looks epic. I like this theory people have of Dalamud being a prison, and Odin possibly being one of the "In-mates". If you read the update list in the letter, it says "-NEW- Addition of Seventh Umbral Era monsters". Perhaps those monsters are creatures who too were in-mates aboard Dalamud.

LOL @ yoshi going to panda express!! i know a TON of better Asian restaurants in the downtown LA area that i'm sure yoshi-p would love.

Unfortunately, at a conference like this, especially if you're booked solid like Yoshida was, you don't really have time to go off and sample awesome restaurants for lunch, it's more like, what's right here that we can eat fast so I don't miss my next appointment?

How did the movie end up as CG now ?, I believe we were going to get a movie with real gameplay ?

We're getting in-game footage, but they're also going to tease the new FMV trailer for 2.0, as 2.0 will feature a new FMV opening when you boot up the game.

Yeah I'm sure the new trailer will feature some form of in-game footage along side scenes from the opening FMV. I think I remember reading Yoshi didn't want to release a trailer without showing the actual product within the trailer lol.
