So because he is not at the main office he can't have the website released? No, he can have the people creating it release it no matter where he is. It just isn't done yet.
You speak the truth.
People seem to have no idea what a producers work actually includes.
It's basically bits of pr and 90% of time schedules and meetings to see if they hold up.
A producer does not do: design, gameplay design, battle design, art( of any kind), programming(of any kind), not even middle management (even in a relatively small company), if he is producing there is no time to focus on absolutely antyhing else that the dates money and output of the teams.
By reading this website you'd think Naoki has designed, programmed, and tweaked the battle system and now we're being suggested that it's up to him to press the submit website button? Seriously guys.
(also from just basic web publishing perspective the whole site could be easily ordered from your neighbour and it wouldn't affect the procedure nor delivery in any way. internet exists.)
Hmmm, then I suppose it's a good thing he is the Director as well as the Producer. Producers tend to be valuable (though somewhat glorified) managers, as you said. Directors, on the other hand do have their hands in every aspect of development. We have no way of knowing if he is more of a Producer or more of a Director since he holds both titles. Evidence suggests he is more of a Director though. You speak the truth.

I just don't understand why they say "soon" and not "in a few weeks", or "in a few months" or "in August" or "we didn't decide yet". And I am not sure, but didn't they tell to release it at the end of the month in march?
I'm just as eager to see new 2.0 stuff also, but at the same time, I'm kinda sick of getting myself hyped up about things. 2.0 is coming, I know it's coming, and I can wait until it gets here.
As far as hype goes though... If they want to get the attention of as many people as possible for a solid re-launch, then they are definitely making the right decision to flood the market with information rather than let it trickle in. Unlike other MMOs, XIV has a bad image in the mind of quite a few MMO players. The best way to combat this is to get as much info about 2.0 out as quickly as possibly, in a fairly short time before release in order to keep the haters speculation to a minimum.

I"ll have to agree with this, they wanted to make a bigger impact with the site but all they've done is "trickle" information even though they wanted to release a flood of information around E3. While sure you can impress people with pictures and some interviews with redundant questions in some of them it still nothing like actually making the sit available.
They seemed so adamant about releasing a flood of information but I'm sure everyone would agree that what we've received so far is but a trickle of what we're expecting in terms of details of 2.0. Perhaps by the end of this week they'll be some news after they release 1.22c perhaps some of the 2.0 info is related to 1.23 so they may be waiting for 1.23 to release information though it would be nice to get an accurate estimate as to what "soon" implies whether it be by the end of June or Early July, it's a lot better then saying soon and being into the 2nd week with no real resolution as to when the actual information will arrive.
Heck they didn't even take the time to update the main site with something as simple as "Yoshida been busy these last few days if you've missed it here are links to the following interviews, Enjoy!" They did really bother to take the time to even inform people that the interviews were done or had taken place which is kinda odd, all they've really cared about is notifying us of when the legacy bonus is done and continuously changing the requirements and suggesting when 2.0 will be ready which does get really boring to see after a while lol.
But ya, just gotta keep being patient and wait til they release it, I'm sure people are eager to see the site after the interviews and screenshots, but right now that interest may be starting to fade with nothing released after it, people are going to forget those screenshots and interviews or may have already forgotten about it. A person who might not be playing this game atm, may have spent last week visiting the site to see if they launched the site, but after the week had passed they may have just given up looking since they only see what was done at E3 as hype and nothing more. They had a good impact with the info they released but they're definitely letting all the helium out of the balloon lol.

As a slight edit though the likely answer as to why there has been no 2.0 site is because of Vanafest. For some reason they don't like to release big information on both MMOs at the same time. if you've noticed one mmo always seem to go silent with news when the other one begins to rumble with news so I honestly wouldn't be surprised if the revealed of the 2.0 site didn't happen til next Monday once Vanafest is over.

Yeah this. No one really would care when it comes out if they would just be legit with the time period. If its few weeks or few months doesn't make a difference but at least then people would have a realistic understanding of when :/
They're already losing time.
Last e3 XIII-2 teaser was announced and the game was advertised throughout the entire year until it's release.
Are they really letting a numbered FF title to slip by like this with less advertising than XIII-2?!
