You will have enough time if it's before june 30th that you start buying. It's the cutoff because past that point there is less than 3 months to 2.0 so it wouldn't be possible to buy 3 months. You could still buy 2 or 1 in that time.

Still, this is the nail in the coffin for my friend. He was hoping to buy the 90 days closer to the release of 2.0 because right now he can't spare the cash. Now it's going to be a missed oppertunity.

I hope they at least offer a 'basic' plan that only gives you 1 character slot on 1 server as it is right now, for the $9.99.

i just got 2 of my friends to start playing this month, maybe a week and a half ago. im guessing there still on their free trial
will they still be able to become legacy members if they subscribe for 90 days now?
you almost explained it by saying if you started in may but then you stoped there. what about us, what about anyone who wanted to start playing today, would they be able to just instantly subscribe for 90 days and be legacy members?
also i'd just like to point out that this is alittle dumb how we have these questions now because there was no difinitive time we should have been looking out for.
until the 2.0 beta is not enough info to know how much longer we have. if we would have just got an estimated month then alot of people wouldnt have this problem.

It's not possible to qualify for the legacy campaign if their account was created after may 31st. That was the cut off date for creating new accounts and still qualifying. So if they created their accounts within the last 2 weeks, they cannot become legacy members.

What I'm hoping personally is that they add a 'basic' subscription level that keeps the 1 character slot 2 retainers only we have right now, for the $9.99 price. That's not too unreasonable I don't think.

If you did not register your copy of the game by May 31, you get nothing. The announcement regarding that date was made a while back and is still visible on the Lodestone front page (scroll down).

Yes. You can confirm your Legacy status using one of three methods:

We will periodically send out notification emails to those that qualify for the Legacy campaign.
The Legacy logo will be displayed when logging into the Square Enix Account Management System and visiting the "FINAL FANTASY XIV" service account section found within the "Select Service" menu.
