It happens every patch, you'll get over it fast.
Kefka Mount, Moomba Mount
Red XIII, Tifa Lockheart
Lalafells, Viera, Megan Fox Mounts
Smaller Mounts, Larger Mounts
New Mount system (PC's making 99% of their posts about mounts)
etc etc glad this is only 3% of the forums bla bla bla needs more mounts bla bla bla

Now a good idea would be a way to tame monsters, then after a series of difficult quests, domesticate them and then make/breed them into a mount.
