Agent Londin G: Hello and thank you for contacting SQUARE ENIX Customer Support. Just a few moments while I review your question, please.
Agent Londin G: How may I help you?
    You: Hello
You: I am just seeking assistance about the Final Fantasy XIV Legacy Campaign.
You: The original announcement was somewhat vague, but said that a customer needed to pay for 90 days of service before 2.0 launches.
You: Since I started playing in the middle of May, I should qualify.
You: However, an announcement came out today that in order to qualify, I would have to use the 90 day billing cycle.
You: I was signed up for the 30 day and was just billed yesterday for it
You: I changed my account to the 90 day cycle, but then I read that that will be discontinued on the 30th of this month.
You: So, will I be billed for the 90 days next month or will I automatically be switched to the 30 day again and therefore be disqualified?
Agent Londin G: So long as you register for the Legacy Campaign before June 30, 2012 you should be fine.
Agent Londin G: 90 days of service must be paid for prior to the launch of the Legacy Campaign beta.
You: Is there a separate Legacy Campaign signup that I'm not seeing somewhere?
You: In other words, is it something that I have to actively sign up for? Or is it automatic?
    Agent Londin G: It's automatic.
Agent Londin G: Thank you for visiting the SQUARE ENIX Support Center! Take care and hope to see you online!
You: What about the billing cycle?
You: This is a quote from the clarification announcement from today:
You: Players who began playing as of May 2012 and have registered for a 90-day period before June 30, 2012 will be able to fulfill the requirements needed to qualify for the Legacy Campaign.
    Agent Londin G: Okay.
    Agent Londin G: Right.
Agent Londin G: Where's the confusion?
You: So, I signed up for the 90 days one day after being billed for my first 30 day cycle. But the 90 day cycle is discontinued on June 30. So, even though I have signed up for the 90 day cycle BEFORE June 30, the option to be billed for 90 days will no longer be available once the next cycle begins.
You: So, it's impossible for me to have paid for 90 days of service by the end of June
Agent Londin G: Switch to a service that keeps your account active.
You: Okay, so the announcement today is essentially saying "If you started paying for this game before June 30th and you keep paying for service for at least 90 days from that point, you will qualify?"
Agent Londin G: So long as 90 days of play are paid for prior to the start of the beta.
Agent Londin G: Thank you for visiting the SQUARE ENIX Support Center! Take care and hope to see you online!
You: I think my confusion comes from the use of passive phrasing is what caused the confusion.
    You: Thanks

So, according to that person. If you registered before the end of May 2012 and you pay for 90 days of service before the 2.0 beta begins, you will qualify. I just wish they thought about the phrasing of things because today's "clarification" made it sound like anyone who didn't sign up for the soon-to-be-defunct 90 day billing cycle was SOL.

That's right, Felix. Unfortunately, until second warning, you are not eligible for the Legacy Campaign. I really doubt they will exclude anyone who came running for it until June 30th. That will mean losing a LOT of subscribers (including me, in case they gave us only wrong info until now).

Yeah, I'm hoping they correct this. It seems silly and arbitrary to have 2 specific conditions/dates that must be met. It should just be "Anyone who pays/signs up for 90 days before June 30th, gets Legacy"

I don't see the need to have registered before May 31, as that leaves new players like myself very frustrated :/

The actual Legacy Campaign page also still says "between January 6th and the start of the 2.0 beta" so I don't think anything's changed with this.

It would be nice to get clarification from one of our reps though, the wording in the 90-day subscription post is really vague and makes it seem like June 30th is the new cut-off date for everyone. I don't understand why payment information always has to be so complicated with these guys.

Well honestly the Legacy Campaign isn't really for new players anyways. I wish it would have been strictly for people that had registered the game within 2 months of the first launch.

The way I understand this is, if you don't pay for the 90 days up front before the end of june there won't be enough time to pay for 90 days (1 month at a time) before the start of beta. If you already have paid 1-2 months you can safely ignore the entire post and just continue on with your single month billing.

My understanding is you don't pay before your 30 day trial is up, so if you don't register by may 31, your trial won't end in time.

I /just/ bought a 90 day block for the game last week. I just returned having not played since before the free time ended.
This week I logged on to see the Legacy tag next to my character.
So my guess is, as long as they opt for the 90 day block in one go before the 30th, they should be legacy members.

This is what kills me about the whole thing. I came back may 3, 2012. I paid for 30 day sub the same day. now June 3rd I paid another 30 day sub. thats 60 days of sub time. Now I'm screwed out of my legacy because I cant purchase a new sub until July 3rd. which that 3rd payment would have been my 90 days. So basaically because theres no option to pay for more game time I have no way of getting legacy status.

The the way I wread it in my case.

I'm starting to wonder if I'll be able to get into the legacy campaign too.

I bought the game in 2011 and stopped playing a few months before they started charging fees, and now recently reactivated in may 2011. I have paid for one month of subscription and this subscription will run out near the end of June.

Going by what has been said by customer service and other announcements, will I have to pick a 3 month subscription when my current sub runs out, or is it fine to keep paying monthly and still get into legacy?
