    oh common Char you know WAR is still beast, WAR nerf is not so nerfed =P I'm glad PLD is getting more attention now, though I never ignored them to begin with.

    If the WAR tanking model is designed around the amount of damage they deal, then there's no dice on this one. I still see people take WARs to tank stuff, so I don't think the picture the OP is trying to paint is accurate. Again, we should be aiming to build a tanking roster, not use one job and exclude the other.

    PS: SE took a step in the right direction with PLD, but the job is far from fixed and complete.

    * The sad thing is that FFXIV turned RDM into a turret, and people think that's what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line like good little casters.
