    Opinions on DoL ability activation.

    What does everyone think of the way the DoL abilities get activated right now? It's nice cuz you don't have to think about it when they activate but at the same time it would be nice if there was a system where you could activate them kind of like the anima system but refreshes faster.

    I would say have it work just like the crafting abilities, but nonbattle classes are getting reformed in 2.0 so I'll just wait until then.

    I personally think DoL needs as great an overhaul as crafting did in the last big patch. Abilities and their integration is very poor at the moment, gathering stats matter so little at r50, new gear is needed.

    Not to mention the only worthwhile ability at r50 is "masters of" and the rest are pointless.

    edit: sorry to answer your question properly, I think activation of abilities doesn't matter as EVERYTHING needs to change about the abilities and DoL in general. As it stands though, with a good setup getting "masters of" to proc every 2-4 nodes is about right. I'd like a mix of abilities that you can proc yourself, and some that are chance based too.

    Add in abilities to gather multiple electrum/DS/cobalt with each hit, an ability to increase HQ hugely by only allowing 1-2 hits at a node. Add a one hit guaranteed HQ with the item placed at a random place on the gauge etc.

    I would like to see a "GP" as I have seen "CP" in the new SS's, as you can use a low "GP" skill on the 2nd attempt or use a high "GP" skill on say the 4th attempt. Also having a skill proc on the last attempt then having it fade after is silly, have it stay for say 30sec~1min so I could run to the next node and still have it.

    What do I think of DoL ability activation?

    Its terrible you can go hours straight with no abilities activating, then 9 times out of 10 they activate on the last couple of strikes, the potency is not even enough to make this viable. Too many time I have been lucky enough for Master of Rock to proc on the 2nd or 3rd strike and I don't get one HQ (with decent perception as well) I wouldn't mind them procing in this time frame if for example there was an 80% HQ discovery rate from the ability but it doesn't seem to affect it much, in fact stacking perception will get a better HQ rate than Master of Rock/Fish/Trees(?).

    We either need abilities to activate more often or make them more potent. This is what I said in the players poll (but for some reason most didn't agree with me)
