    The Ascian is a remnant of the Tanaka FFXIV.... i don't think it has anything to do with 2.0 and Yoshi-P.

    I hate to say it guys, but this is exactly right. I think SE just sorta overlooked this part of the storyline and now they have to think up a way to make it work again. They can say that they have a plan for it if they like, but if they do it just means they gave us this CS way too early. lol

    They could easily add these as free-roaming mobs in a special area. (perhaps the ruins of the ancient civilization sleeping beneath the thanalan desert) Corse mobs in FFXI were normal mobs and they were still pretty fierce and avoided if you were in a small group.
