some people are not blessed with infinite amount of time to gather people or a good linkshell.
Say solo content = no reward but achievement and cutscene, but then full party fight would give bigger achievement, same story progression cutscene and then nice loot -- this would make both options pretty viable since if you /really/ wanted that loot, you'd get the full party together but if you couldn't you could still progress your storyline. There's a little something for everyone♪
Edit: that being said, if most of the community wasn't focused on LS onry, then we wouldn't be in this mess >:3 lol. I help out a lot when I can, hurts to see people shouting for 3+hrs, but it takes more than the handful that do this to make the community better for everyone♪

Because isn't an option. When you can solo something without any issue, it's just oblius you do it alone instead to ask help for something don't even need help
I'm sorry I still don't get it.
Why make a genre that thrives on multiple player interaction and make all that interaction pointless? It's a crying shame that some people have a hard time finding groups but should everyone have to suffer?
You can't design a boss who needs to be incapacitated to kill if it has to be scaleable for solo, and in that extent who would even party if you could just face-roll the entire game because it's scaled for every single person to be able to solo it.
I guess people just don't have that sense of satisfaction that comes from gathering your friends and slaying a behemoth sized monster and reaping the rewards or watching your friends finally get past that slump. I don't get why any sane MMO developer would make their game less dependant on community interaction. Your just asking to get yourself compared to single player games that don't have to focus on anything but delivering a single player experience and then falling short on being able to deliver.
Multiplayer games are designed around being....multiplayer.
Single player games are design around being....single player.
MMO games are designed around being....MMO's!
If you go the "no loot" route then what would the point of soloing content even be? If you reward stuff like primal drops why have all the hassel of having other players know a strategy and trusting them to pull it. Why bother having any real hardship becasue you can just do it yourself whenever you want and get your reward. Christ only a handfull of people would party if that was the case even if the drop rates were abysmally low solo.
...I just don't get it.Source: US PlayStation BlogPSB: With the game finally launching on PlayStation 3 soon, how are you planning to attract those potential new players? You know, the console audience is very different from the traditional PC gamer.
Yoshida: We know that a lot of console players never played an MMO and they may be scared by not knowing what to do, and we want to stress that it’s very similar to an offline Final Fantasy that always had great stories, made you cry, changed your life. There will be a beta for a limited time where people will be able to try it out. And an additional factor to bring in console games are graphics: something of this quality you can’t have in any MMO title.
A little bit more experience with other MMORPG games will turn on some light bulbs. Maybe then you'll finally get it.

What dont you get? That some people cannot do things with 8 people?I'm sorry I still don't get it.

You can design bosses which need lots of interaction and make it scalable, you'd have to be an absolute moron of a developer to not make attributes scale, GuildWars 2 can do it, TERA can do it, Diablo can do it, its not difficult, its just Stats, the rest stays the same.
Its not about the sense of satisfaction that comes with gather friends and slaying a behemoth, its the fact that SOME PEOPLE CANT DO THIS.
I dont have 7 friends who have no life and on 24/7 whenever I need them. I play with people who have very busy lifes, like me, I have a very busy real life. And this MMO alienates a lot of content from me because I have this life...
I cant login and just do things with 1-2 friends. I have to resort to shouting in Uldah, but oh wait no one wants to do anything because they have already done it or dont care about "playing with others" in an "mmo" they just play with their LS.
Also your multi/single thing makes no sense, you can play a Multiplayer Solo..... I can go on Xbox live and join a battlefield game and have fun, i don't need a full squad of 4 people before i can play.
Starting to think you just don't understand what's being asked and you're blindly sticking your nose into something you have absolute no idea about because everything is pretty perfect in your gaming life and you don't mind spending hours and hours on game.
Yet again you completely contradict yourself with the final statement.... If you got no loot from Ifrit for killing him solo, you'd do it for the "Kill" the "Lore" the "Story". If you want loot get 8 people and do it, if you just want the "Story" you can solo him.... lol
Doesnt matter if you dont get it or not, shit wouldn't affect you but your insistent stupidity affects everyone else who have been locked out of content cuse this is the most anti-social mmo that exists lol.
People will do it for "Loot", while other people just do it for the "Lore/Story", that is why.
Answer this, what if people want weapons?
Cant get weapons solo, I did Ifrit, I only did it a few times because i dont care for weapons I just wanted the Story/Kill.
Are you forgetting the people who did Ifrit 500 times just for weapons?

You seem to have missed the part where there would be rewards available for those doing it with a full party.
Doing it solo would = just story progression / NO items /achievement for easymode
Doing it in party would = Story progression / Rare loot /achievement for hard mode.
You would be surprised how FEW people would actually solo this because most of the community would want that nice loot.
Story should be accessible by everyone -- this does not include raids like CC/AV, Hardmode primals that drop weapons. The hard content won't become obsolete because people will want the items that drop.
Solo storyline content is kinda like a last resort for people who are sick of shouting for days on end and making progress.
