Not all pick up parties are bad, its mostly communication between players, or lackthereof. Honestly, if you dont wish to use the Content Finder option, then dont. Its really simple by the sound of it.

What I'd like to know, is if it'll be possible for me to play on either my PC or PS3, via the account I log into, or will the PC and PS3 need to be separate accounts. Some nights may be nice to come home and fire up the tv and play, rather than sit at the desk.

Except, as Yoshi correctly point out, if you don't do that then a lot of people will struggle to do party based content.

Then..he's providing those players with an option, so they arent left without the means. I can sense negativity in the reaction to the content finder, but I can't figure out why that is. I know in my case, working late, coming home around 2-3am eastern, a majority of my LS are already in bed. So if I'm going to do a party based thing it has to be on an off day I can get on before going into work, or a day off. The content finder would likely settle that matter, let me group up with others who also happen to be on at my same time, spread across servers, so I can still enjoy myself and go to bed on time.

Whereas the other option is.. to not provide the CF at all, and then I would still be stuck w/o the ability to pursue party objectives and that would just lead to frustation and resentment towards the game itself. Which, on the other side of that coin, if they were to make it so the entire game could be solo'd, then you'd have a negative reaction from the people who crave the MMO side of the game and want party based content.

He has a fantastic point. It's a two sided coin, some people will hate, and others will enjoy content finder. Take ffxi as an example, the biggest issue with that game, is the amount of grouping required to get anywhere, and the fact that grouping up takes longer than the actual content sometimes. In order to keep more subs, in this generation of gaming, a content finder feature is a must. I for one probably won't use it much, just because there are negatives to pick-up groups that I don't care for, however I can definitely agree with it being there just in case I do need to get something done quickly, I'll only be a click away.

    Content finder, hell yes.

I prefer to get stuff done and not spend 3 hours trying to get the people together x.x

I think he mentioned in some other sites interview that you will be able to play on either PC or PS3 with the same account.
