It looks more like hands shouting out flames to me, so maybe some kind of new mage?

Unlikely, as the hamlet areas appear to exclusively house crafting-based stations. If it were a mage though, the only available option would be Mystic. (We already know what Arcanist's symbol is, as seen from the guild in Limsa.)
