I've recently come back after going away for a while, and while the new streamlined crafting system is a Godsend, I really miss the variety of nearly equivalent choices of different styles of gear to use for any given spot. Still can't seem to dye any of my metal armor though...
I keep hearing about release 2.0, but I haven't heard anything less vague than 'this winter'. Has an actual date been said anywhere, or a description of this colorID function that Arcell mentioned earlier?

I do notice a lack of any shirt (except grand company) for level 41+ DoM. Therefore there is no meldable shirt. (Although there is one for every tier below).
I do notice a lack of meldable glasses for level 41+ (there is a preserve but those are goggles not glasses, and then there is a monocole which is one short of glasses ^.^.
Therefore if you are a DoM and wish to wear a shirt & glasses with T3 or T4 materia you are out of luck ; ;
Which is odd, and I'm almost wondering if it is an oversight/mistake? (Since these items are available for levels below 41).
They have Mythril Spectacles (Level 35). If they introduce same but call it Darksteel Spectacles (Level 45) then that would be great.
They have Linen and Woolen Shirts (Level 31 -> 40). If they made Woolen Shirt level 41, then T3/T4 materia could be attached. Or perhaps add a Felt Shirt.
hope once they do all these changes in 2.0 they will allow red to be well red.give us dye tones so we can get the colour we wants please.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but reading that translation, it sounds like he's saying the current colors can't be expanded on because each color is a different texture, and that they're working on a system that lets you freely alter your color to any color coordinate without requiring a re-texturing of it, and that you'll have a full 24bit or 32bit color range to choose from. The translation doesn't specifically say "bit", but I think that might be what he's talking about.For the release date, check out the roadmap here: http://lodestone.finalfantasyxiv.com...ser/index.html
