    Today, after we did all the new patch stuff, we returned to CC and found out that SE totally ruined our strat. We tried different spot combinations for hours but didnt work out a good one... Tho we got some wins, we didnt manage to get one single speedrun. Maybe its just the first frustration but we decided to do some AV tomorrow lol

    But I basically agree with SirOleas. Theres new stuff to find out.

WHMs stand at the front of the nook, and the BLMs at the back. It's perfectly safe. As long as everyone is in the right spot, the only one that ever gets hit by any of chimera's attacks is the tank and DD. In that spot, chimera gets tanked in the left corner facing the far wall (as you enter).

    Our pt setup is usually something like this for chimera:

    1 Tank
    2 WHM
    1 BRDs
    3 BLM
    1 any job
    do you possibly mean something like this in the picture?~

    and yea, as aveline said, did you test it ever since 1.22b hit? i tried it with a similar position just that the whole thing happened on the left wall, but mages still got hit.

    The groups I have gone with still use no melee other than the tank. They still use WAR, brd, 2 whms and the rest blms. I dont have an issue with it and not sure why others do.

    There is no safe spot. Just treat it like Ifrit and run when he cast VoD or bring melee that knows how to avoid moves, you want at least 1 MNK to incap the tail so it doesnt use sting.

    So you mean, run to chimera when he is casting VotD?

    i guess its dragon kick to incap his tail?

    We usually just run out, You can make the WHM run in, but the BLMs can definitely run out because they have longer range. Yes it is dragon kick to incap tail, only have about 3k-4k hp, very easy to incap by a single MNK.

    Also incap heads is spiritswithin, i am not sure what it does though.

    Yeah, just like that. And no, I hadn't done it since the patch, which is really why I mentioned our spot to see if anyone that uses that strat had tried. Tonight will most likely be the first time since then, so I'll let my group know they need to move.
