lol i can see the complains already, yet thats what some are asking forI wonder how many people would be upset if SE just changed it and said.
SE: We have heard your cries and are changing the relic system to all point based!
You require: 2000 Hamlet points (one per win)
You require: 1000 materia points (One per double Tier IV meld, four for tripple, 10 for quad)
You require: 1000 Cutters cry points (One per win, two if speed run)
You require: 1000 Aurum vale points (One per win, two if speed run)

Calm down everyone its ok, they are going to make it so we can turn in our beastmen currency for seals in the next patch. Why else would they make it drop in hamlet defense from the chests when they can't be used for anything..... Right square enix? RIGHT?!?
Something like this is excatly what I fear. SE seems to find a way to change something in an unexpected way totally missing the point the community had and bringing something up that lets you wonder: in what dimension there brain resides...I wonder how many people would be upset if SE just changed it and said.

My biggest fear is that we have 6-7 months until we get the full 2.0 version playable after the Alpha, Beta, and Transitions phases are over. We only have 1.23 left, which adds a single encounter (Legatus Battle). I fear that this is SE's way of creating "Content" for six months.
Basically, let's recycle everything we've introduced the past year and make people do them just as much as when we first introduced them. This is repetitive content at its absolute worst. I'd rather they take the game down for 4 months and transition than offer this as "content."

I somehow came back to this game again and again those two years. Most time just sitting around in the city beeing bored. I can wait a few months more.
Hmm, sounds like most games...CoD, Diablo 3, etc. You just do same stuff over and over until an expansion/DLC comes out.My biggest fear is that we have 6-7 months until we get the full 2.0 version playable after the Alpha, Beta, and Transitions phases are over. if you want to be a douch at least know what you are being douchy about.I wonder how many people would be upset if SE just changed it and said.

Still has Random. You require: 1000 materia points (One per double Tier IV meld, four for tripple, 10 for quad)
All the rest, but maybe 1000 points would be so much better in the sense that it isnt random and you can progress, you can do it in your own time, not fake random time.
Its not creative though.
Very good OP.
I want my 25000 seals back!
Nobody's doing hamlet defense - how should I do my 300 runs?
I just hate one thing.
WHY do we NEED 3 of each seal?
And with Primals. Yoshi doesn't want to have more than one Ifrit, Garuda,... out there, but we have to KILL them a hundred times to get our weapon. Wouldn't mind if we just get a reward for killing them once, but is a dark matter the right reward for such a kill? I just want something that rewards me and says "You did it!". It's cool to have that content repeatable but it should not be a waste of time.

Mine 300 pieces of Gold Ore +1
Mine 300 pieces of Darksteel Ore +1
Clear 1000 Hamlet Defenses
Clear Aurum Vale 500 times
Clear Cutter's Cry 500 times
Defeat Garuda 500 times without using exploits (lol, sorry I had to)
Spiritbond 50 Tier IV *insert specific materia here*
Insert more grind
Collect 1 weapon
Repeat process
Honestly, I'm fine with the current system. I'm currently mining ores to make a few pairs of Avengers, something that I know will take me a long time. But each time I see "You obtain a chunk of gold ore +1" I know I'm that much closer to my goal, even though I don't exactly know just how many I'll need. Progress is progress.
If you think this system is unfair or whatever then it's just not meant for you. Most people I've talked to in game are glad to see long term goals finally make an appearance in the game, even if a lot of it is luck based (isn't that the core of all MMOs in the first place?)
To Yoshida:
Don't let people like this influence your decisions too much. I personally do not agree with many of your choices either, but I'm not a game developer and I'm positive your experience in such a field far outweighs mine or anyone else's here on these forums.
"I'm gonna quit" is a very common response from people who don't get their way. Don't let that crap get to you. You and I both know they're not going anywhere lol.
