I really don't mind having to play hamlet defense to get them. Otherwise what is the point of it?
My XIVPad:
Don't do it, don't ask SE to make it worth it for you. Trust me, anyone who will want these weapons will 'grind it out' because they'll want to obtain it. Just have to face facts, not everything is designed for everyone to get and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that because there's still plenty and will be plenty of stuff designed for everyone, some things just won't let you have your cake and eat it too.
Good thing XIV doesn't have korean mmo drop rates then. I've seen more darklight gear than I have seen even a shitty card in Ragnarok Online.
Btw, it's not linked to nation, because american MMOs have just as bad drop rates if they aren't just handing things to you.
I like upgrading. Saves you inventory space, and your weapon gets stronger as you level up. If I ever get around to do Hamlet, I hope I can turn that PLD sword into Excalibur one day.

We're all 50 and have nothing better to do. Why're you all bitchin'? Correct me if I'm wrong, but at least it's free and requires less people?
Although, I wish they'd add more ways to get seals. I want to tear my eyes out after a few caravan runs..
Hmmmm Good Old Relic weps, after FFXI I actually look foward to it.... hope these weps actually make a huge difference unlike FFXI, though at 99+1 relic is sweet ^^

i need someone to camp the ??? for the curtana so we can pop BB to pop Suzaku.

always looking for good people.

Idk what shell you were running with or when, but when we were doing dyna.. It was 1mil to get the hourglass, so IF (important word) you sponsored the run.. you would get the currency..Not asking for easy, just asking for less grind
And you could easily get outta dyna with enough currency for stage 1 unless you had no idea what to do in dyna. Dyna was also alot more fun. And there were relic gears that dropped as well so even if you were not the one getting the weapon you could be one working on getting thf hands or rdm hats and such. It was multi-functional. At least a few ppl always came out of dyna with something they wanted/needed in every run I ever did in xi. Cant say that here.
And yes look at those stats but again, not worth the grind for me. With a full time job and rl friends and things to do I can do without 800 runs to hamlet. If they made it more challenging, engaging and fun that may change my mind and I would perhaps put time into it, meaning logging in more and playing for longer periods. But just grinding...meh. I may not have a relic weapon but like Ive said in the past, having a full set of darklight and now a relic weapon will not impress me, I will be more apt to think, oh look at that poor player with no life outside of the game, must be lonely only talking to real ppl via vent.
Stage 1 > Stage 2
Wait Time: After one Midnight in Japan. (UTC/GMT +9)
You will need your base Relic Weapon, three specific items (these are crafted items that can typically be obtained from Dynamis, crafted from materials found in Dynamis, or purchased with Ancient Currency), and 3 to 5 100-unit pieces of a specific type of Ancient Currency for the commission. Once you have all the required items, speak to Switchstix in Castle Zvahl Baileys at I-8 (where you first enter). Trade him the weapon and the three items. Speak to him again, and he will ask for the payment fee. Trade him the Ancient Currency. After this, wait 1 Earth day (JP midnight) and speak to him again to receive your Stage 2 Relic Weapon.
there are 5 stages.. so if you have a shell that has ideally at least 36 people on it.. but for this case let's just say 40.. so.. IF each person sponsors a run.. thats 40 runs.. 1 every 72 hours.. thats about 4 months for each person to sponsor 1 run... so lets just say for fun that you get a whole stage complete every sponsorship.. thats 1 year to get everyone to stage 4... Thats also if you do the same zone everytime.. which.. idk how often that happens, with scheduling and all....
So lets talk about relic... dont forget.. different relic pieces dropped in different zones...so.. the chances of you actually getting what you want depends on your shell... your point system.. and what zone your doing.. I literally know someone who did dyna for a year and a half before he could get his thf hands, because of the way dyna was set up back in those days.. like i said if you were running at when the hourglass was only 500k maybe it was different.. but idk how thats "easier" or "better" then the drops in xiv at all..
also we were running when the cap was still 75.. so again.. idk.
just because someone has good gear doesnt mean they dont have a life.. everybody has a life.. obviously.. and whether your accomplishments are in real life or in game.. thats up to the individual and what they choose to spend their time on.. your remarks seem a little petty and immature.. how do you know that that person doesnt know how to optimize their time.. you could say the same thing about someone that has a primal weapon or a job at 50..
i'm surprised to even see remarks like that in an MMO forum.. we all play video games thats why were here.. to diminish someone as an individual because you ASSUME they play more or less then you is more of a reflection of your own character.. Ezrah has a 40 hour a week job.. and has rl friends.. haha a lot of them just happen to play xiv, because we tend to have friends who have the same interests as us... i dont see how that makes anybody's life more or less valuable then yours...
what is the difference between hanging out and killing mobs or hanging out elsewhere?
