Just to second the drop rates being not that bad. We are 21 seals with 85 runs. So we are about the same drop rate. That is getting red chest every time. We've also gotten a good chunk of militia items so far in our 85 runs, 3 Gather Hats!
The seals from Hamlet. We do them with a member of the linkshell getting on the top twenty and since getting 60K (again, not necessarily related but for us the magic number) runs routinely have been seeing a lot of seal drops.lol which seals? gc seals drop rate from nm is bad at the best of times & the respawn time is b/s for many reasons, hard enough to get 8 people to do caravans let alone DH run, totorak is also hard to get people to go everyone says "yea i'd go" but when it comes to it there like "no not now" or i decided to join another party just to piss you all off because you asked.
As for hamlet seals been there done a few never seen 1 seal, once again its hard enough to get 8 people togeather l/s or otherwise & same excuse "yea i'll do it anytime" ask anytime & you get "no not now or later or ever"
cynical i know but its true & happens daily to people
If you're expecting to produce relic weapons with pick up groups that's probably half your problem.
I don't know if you came from WoW or not (or whatever other game) but in Final Fantasy you're just going to have to get used to the fact that some endeavors require an organized linkshell to tackle effectively. If you don't want to join an organized linkshell you essentially don't want to be involved in organized linkshell content.
(HNM's, for example, aren't going to be something you can shout in town for unless you're aim is comedy)

Those who can't get into organized groups are going to be left in the dust when 2.0 rolls out.

That's a problem then, how the hell you are gonna say you want the game to be an wordless model if you have to have a LS to do everything. Think about that. The seals from Hamlet. We do them with a member of the linkshell getting on the top twenty and since getting 60K runs routinely have been seeing a lot of seal drops.

Like i said i was referring to the low militia gear drop rate for non top 20 suppliers being the reason for the disinterest in hamlet defense, so this is a moot point. Again though I have to ask, as I haven't bothered doing this yet, does each player get their own chest like primal fights? or is it one shared chest? if the former case is true then you would have to divide 93 by 1946 (278x7) then x100 = 4.8% drop rate. If the latter is the case your percentage holds true. This does not disqualify the obvious sentiment of resentment and disdain arroused by premium virtue, myself and many others.Roughly 93 seals dropped from the chest in 278 total runs. Total of 7 people (including myself) who have the promissory note, with others to finish shortly. All in all it is a poorly implemented system that could have been done better, but i've heard horror stories from Ifrit that have been much worse. I know a lot of people will disagree with me on this last point but Relic weapons shouldn't be obtainable by everyone similarly to how Relics/Mythics worked in XI. It will take a very long time and a great deal of patience to sit through this.
If people are confused on how to get the gold chest our good friend lux posted a video guide here on the forums to help encourage those who may want seals.
I couldn't agree with you more, and I enjoyed your pun too.
The same could be said about FFXIV 100 times over... I continue to pay though, the 2.0 screenshots looks fantastic but that wont guarentee the content will be fun.

I agree with difficulty/challenge requirement to obtain a good piece of gear but at the moment we don't even know if the stats will be worth the effort much less better than a triple melded crafted gear. As far as your comment about people complaining being an indicator of difficulty being right, i'm just going to point to primal fights and indoing so disprove what you just said. Furthermore, what doesn't the gaming community complain about regardless of the difficulty being "right", it's a subjective opinion for the love of the twelve...Yep, relics in XI were pretty much the status symbol. To even have one weapon was a big achievement.
People shouldn't be expecting this to be easy. The fact that people are complaining about it is an indicator that the difficulty is probably about right. I mean few people even have a promissory note at this point, and that's just to accept the quest.
I can put in the time, I just don't feel compelled to.
Thank you.
This is what players are asking for and complaining about. The feeling that RNG > skill, primal fights being a prime example. I got 7/7 in less than a hundred ifrit kills with only 3 throwaway duplicates. Others didnt get there first weapon until 100 kills and a close friend of mine got something like 7 duplicae cudgels before obtaining his seventh weapon. This is rediculous and largely conrtributes to the minority of you players testifying to a "decent drop rate" as opposed to the majority who call out the "lowsy drop rate" If you were to average the two I am sure you would find a low ball drop rate and maybe that's the way it's meant to be (longer subs for SE derp).
Still waiting for my +mp proc on cast patch (+mp on strike wtf...)
I could care less about a worldless model.
The you can be one of the masses without the best gear in the game.
Thank you.

Hm i might wait for 2.0 when they let more people join in instead of hoping someone will let me join there Hamlet run,
Let my Fishing people go! At least make fishing a second class one for boring and other for hardcore Fishers!
