How do you guys deal with online drama?

Recently I seem to have had a stroke of bad luck with falling into situations where, one way or another, myself and another friend of mine online get in a misunderstanding that leads to a heated conversation:

    For example:

    1) I was talking to a friend of mine about doing ifrit and I ask him "do you know the fight pretty well?" and he responds "what does 'pretty fight' mean?" and I explain that's not what I said and try to walk him through it. I joked around and said stuff like "are you on drugs lol? that's not what I said"

Well...somehow he got incredibly pissed at me, thought I was being annoying, and started cussing me out...=( (At this point I was wondering if there was a language barrier I wasn't aware of...had plenty of conversations just fine with him before).

    2) In a LS (only 8 people in it) and the leader says "hey come do hamlet we are all here cmon!" and I explained I wasn't doing that atm. Well she starts getting mad saying it's a strict event LS and I apologize for inconvenience and retire the LS saying it's not what I meant to sign up for.

I /tell the LS leader again apologizing about the misunderstanding and she proceeds to act snide and cuss at me about being a flake out and such. Her frustration is understandable but she continued to be bitter after I apologized multiple times and remained calm...

For those of you who have read this far I just got to ask: how do you deal with this stuff?

I had NO intentions of pissing these people off and I really enjoyed talking to them and being friends, but through some stupid situation they've socially exiled me.

I feel like a complete ass but at the same time I don't feel like I did something to deserve these sort of conflicts..

TlDr; I've been getting in conflicts with people lately and I don't want to lose them as friends...what do I do?
