He never said it'd be done away with forever, it can come back as the levels get higher.

Actually i dont care if it is now on google search, it will be soon, if more infos floating.
FFXIV was a flop and need to show the world its worth a rebirth. Many people cannot do much with screenshots, attention will be greater when a trailer with CGI and IG Footage will be released.
And it must be a very very good trailer to get recognised by the world

Can't be a pet. I don't think they're allowed in the pts? (I could be wrong) but as Exekutor pointed out Lulu is on the Blm job. Kinda hope they give us the option to remove our surnames. Coming from XI I'm just use to seeing single names. Either way no biggie lol.

probably a developer client that doesn't require surname. Or maybe our companions will have a use outside the main scenario

It's either a Pet, NPC or Retainer (if they adjust what a retainer does in 2.0 like they said they will)
