    In norse mythology i believe Gilgamesh either trys to steal or make a sword equal to Zanketsuken. But Odin finds out and makes it a brittle sword and it can kill anyone hence in 8. Excalipor does 1 dmg.

    Hmm didn't know that, would have made more sense in 8 to fight Gilgamesh and he kills Odin for Zanketsuken then, Seifer was the biggest noob of them all and its depressing HE killed Odin.

    Game is years old guys, not really a spoiler now. Had to get that one in there.
