This would seriously tempt me, although I would be worried that if SE gave us rodent-folk, we would end up as playable Qiqirns, which would make me sad.

This. Honestly, there's enough Ivalice games already; leave the Viera there. This is EORZEA, and the only reason we got races that look like those of XI's were to add familiarity to players coming from the only other Final Fantasy online game. Please try and come up with something at least slightly original, not yet another miq'ote with bunny ears and tails.

I don't think we will see the name "Viera" in this game. After all, they didn't even keep the FFXI names for what are practically the same races (queue up the Roegadyn tail requests).

No, if we do get rabbit people - they will be called something like "Feylar"... close but different.
