    Considering they are (confirmed) going to let us keep are 1.x characters, I doubt it. A few MMOs have been letting people keep their beta characters into release, so its safe to assume there will not be a wipe.

    As I said there will only be a wipe if its a proper beta ie new characters starting from scratch, if they port us all over, and the beta is essentially an early release for current subscribers there will not be one.

    There is a possibility that FFXIV 2.0 Beta will require testers to log into another site and create new characters to test the new program... not touching the game we are currently playing.

    That is what I am trying to get at. We play the beta with copies of our current characters, and have the option to also create new characters.
