Far from it, the community doesn't need to "Shut up" but it would help if they didn't cry over spilt milk. People can say that this is a great addition and that perhaps it should have been there from the start.

But to have such a negative tone about it, perhaps that's the issue at hand. The dev team just can't seem to please people and if people keep up this whiny attitude it's possible that they may just hold all features back to avoid someone whining about how incomplete it is on the forums.

I'm not sure what you're getting at. You say they don't need to "shut up" but they do need to in this case, stop crying over spilled milk - which is saying they need to be quiet, but with different wording.

I'll adjust your bullets to illustrate why people complain, broski:

-Devs introduce broken, somewhat illogical system
-Get common sense, obvious feedback on things they should already know and have done
-Say they will implement those ideas, six months down the line
    -People complain about it
-You tell them they're being unreasonable while praising the idea on the sole grounds of "better"; a smaller pile of poop.

*That* is why people have a negative attitude. Introducing a new system is fine, but introducing a half-baked system lacking common sense is not, and you're going to get negative reactions. Frustrated, paying customers are then dismissively told (not knocking Camate, I know their info is from SE corporate), "Yeah, we'll get to it eventually, probably five or six months down" and then berated for not being "positive".

Concepts like "They're going to clean up the poop from your bed in five months, just deal with it till then. Geez, why so negative?" is probably only going to earn a stronger negative reaction - but perhaps it was an intentional troll, in which case, well played, my dude!

If serious, though... Rowyne's classic quote still stands!

i dont understand how they dont think things like this through. Its like they toss it together and dont think about how poorly implemented it is. And yes waiting 5-6 months for them to make a simple feature acceptable is....well unacceptable. There is a reason there is so many people saying you are paying for a beta....heres just one of a list of reasons it seems like it.

Perhaps SE never thought people would be ultra upset about something like darkmatter being consumed when your seeking repairs...who would of thunk it.

Hell until I heard the suggestion I never even though about how much Dark Matter I was consuming when seeking repairs. I still don't see how the "Repair all" function is illogical makes perfect sense to me, even without the tweaks. Then again I guess I don't "Expect enough!"

I need to go put on my thinking cap and see what I need to expect!

I run into this all the time at work and it usually comes from hurrying too much. A good idea can be completely FUBAR by a poor implementation. I don't mind it having minor problems when something new comes along.

Constructive criticism is very helpful and we need more of it without people raging and QQing.

My suggestion, only auto seek repair for things yellow or red.

We can already have gear repaired while it is equipped, but it would be really great if we could designate something like, “repair when damage is xx%.”
With the current system, I am having repairs done even at 99% and while I would like to keep playing while my request is up, getting repairs after just one fight is impractical.
Though it would be after patch 1.22, we are looking into implementing this type of setting. Also, while on this topic, we are also looking into making it possible to set repair requests by equipment slot. However, we cannot promise any specific timing just yet.

I have an update regarding repairing items that fall below a certain percentage. It was mentioned previously that we would be looking into this for patch 1.22b, however, it was determined that the development effort was too large and there are other development tasks that are higher in priority, so this will be pushed back.

We are planning to change the overall flow of repair requests quite significantly in version 2.0. Since the specifics are currently being worked on, we cannot say anything about it at the moment, but we will be sure to introduce the features once we receive word they are done.

    * The sad thing is that FFXIV turned RDM into a turret, and people think that's what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line like good little casters.

A loss, for sure, but the sigged comment is still BS.

Show me one company that's 'done it right' enough not to have its own pack of complaints sitting on the back burner.

Ahhh "pushed back" I already knew I would see that term as soon as I saw the yellow dev post. I think we should just assume everything is going to be "pushed back" until 2.0.
