No trailer at E3 LOL @ SE

What E3 reputation? The one that was nearly ruined post 2006? How about when it was moved to Santa Monica? E3 is in the process of losing its luster, and the only thing holding it together IS the fact that Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft attend. Once they realize that they don't need E3(which more and more game companies are doing thanks to alternate distribution channels), then E3 will be going the way of the dodo.

It's pretty much a given that E3 has been on its deathbed since 2007 and that its currently in hospice care.

If you can't understand why people would be irritated at being told something is going to happen for over year only to then have it cancelled at the last minute, your dumber than this post makes you appear.

I kinda prefer the idea of a brand new site, Its alot more informative than a trailer and no doubt we'll get a bunch of new info with it. Also I think a panel would be interesting rather, answering Q&A and showing off concept art, new models etc. But yeah I agree that trailers are a really good way to hype up newcomers if not a bit misleading

I don't know what games-con is, but Gamescom has only been around for about 3 years, in that time you think it is a bigger deal than E3 and has more attention? What do you base that on? I've never heard of anything important ever being unveiled at gamescom.

lol? The Games-Con exist since 2002, moved 2009 to Cologne and changed the Name to Gamescom and got even more populuar than it was in the 7 Years before 2009.

Honestly it doesn't even matter which E3, TGS or Gamescon is more popular or bigger. The fact is that they are ALL BIG and aLL IMPORTANT. Missing any of them is missing a good marketing opportunity period.

they just arent giving us a trailer, they will be giving other infos instead, too many people equyate no trailer with no info at all

Push up bra is like a bag of chips, you open it and it's half empty!

Now putting a trailer that's just full on CGI will end up the same way, showing it off will be nice but wouldn't please half or more of the audience already knowing FFXIV's issue at initial launch, they just gonna watch the trailer and go wow that's pretty but pretty much the game is FAIL just like original FFXIV 1.0.

Gotta remember the audience watching isn't full of players playing the current game so when they see 2.0 full on CGI they will just relate that with 1.0's crappy system without any info on any changes that happened since then until now.

And E3 isn't really player friendly, it's more of a show off show against big companies, so it's better to have it at it's own event or gamescon or TGS where more players get to attend and try it out.

And just to confirm JP P.Letter also has same note in there so no translation error or anything they both confirming there is some new info regarding 2.0 at E3.

I know there will be info but probably not much more then what the PDFs and the previous interviews gave us. The younger audience do not care for interviews. So SE won't be reaching them at E3. If they have nothing more then talk and artwork to show then this will be a missed opportunity.

Don't get me wrong, i would love for some gameplay footage and screenshots at E3 but everything is pointing to a low profile for 2.0, just like everything pointed to a disappointing trailer at E3. And guess what happened? They cancelled the trailer. pple called this weeks before the letter, based on SE's recent comments.

I mean look at the letter.... he barely talks about E3, he is not even trying to make it sounds like a big deal so obviously it will be all about interviews.

as ive pointed out before, the young audience doesnt care about e3 for the most part anyway

if SE didnt get a spot in one of the conferences, chances are they would be overlooked by everyone anyway

thats where people get the attention, you get yourself into those conferences, the exception of course being the big games people were waiting on info from to begin with(which is never an mmo)
