I don't think all of these are unique for WoW only
it's found in every MMO
Well we have meaningless quests too ^_^
just saying ^_^
^_^
p.s ^_^

FFXI:
-Raids - Check
-Instanced Dungeons - Check
-Meaningless Quests - Check
-Exclamation points - Check (Seeking party counts, right? ~_^)
-Auto-attack - Check
See OP... I don't know what you're trying to compare this to. Not just WoW, but FFXI has these things too. So your point is kinda...non-existent.
I am in favor of new mmorpg ideas.
I am strongly against wow clones.

This thread needs an aggro indicator.
I agree nothing against WoW but after XI WoW is the exact opposite of what FF games have always been about.

Nope.
As a matter of fact, none of those elements has been invented by blizzard and/or introduced in wow first.
I'm not one bit apprehensive about elements aimed at making the game easier and more enjoyable to players that have less time or MMORPG dedication than me.
Instanced dungeons allow the developer to create scripted storyline-based adventures That I personally appreciate. If you didn't notice the game already has "instanced dungeons", the storyline quests are chocked full of them.
As for raids, they're not my favourite activity in a MMORPG, but many enjoy them. So why exactly would I demand SE to exclude gameplay elements that so many people enjoy just because they're not my thing and because wow has them (and didn't even introduce them first, mind you,so the wow association is improper)?
You seem to think that having to comb a city for an NPC (or go find it's location online), to remember what species of mob are aggressive (thing that takes a few minutes to get used to, since aggression is species-wide), or to spam a button to make a character execute simple attacks are somehow a degree of challenge.
I tend to find that quite perplexing.
as for "meaningless" quests, what's "meaningless"? MMORPGs are a world. Realistic worlds are driven not only by epic stories of heroism and glory against terrible empires, but also by common folks sharing their life and insight on the world itself. What you call "meaningless" quests add flavor and folklore to the world, and give some quite interesting snippets of lore to players interested to that. I sure am. If you're not, since they aren't mandatory, you can just ignore them.

@ OP: Weren't you the one complaining months ago defending WoW and begging xiv to be more like wow? xD
